Whats the worst community of any game youve ever played in and why? 

IVe played quite a few different mmorpgs and it seems to me WOW has to be the hands down most immature and rude community ive ever seen. My previous game experience includes COH/COV, guildwars, LOTRO, UltimaOnline, AnarchyOnline, DAOC, SWG. Dark and Light and now Tabula Rasa.  I try to be patient and understanding but after a while you cant take anymore less QQ more PEWPEW etc on and on and on every singlle day, not to mention half the battlegrounds being AFK everytime u go into one. To get ahead in these games it takes months and months of constant grinding etc, only to have your enjoyment of the game itself ruined by spoiled brats who have nothing better to do than be assholes just for the sake of doing so. I was just curious to hear some of your stories about bad experiences in online gaming so i can maybe compare notes with you. And also any ideas you think might would help  the game companies prevent these kind of communities in their games (if anything). Ive met some really great  peopel in wow who were really nice helpful etc. But the majority of the people are greedy and very immature and its time i moved on to another game. Anyways just looking for some input on this and to hear your thoughts if anything. BTW i do realize theres always going to be rude immature people everywhere that's a given. Just i have seen very helpful game communites as a whole and i think its a shame some games have devolved into this.

I would have to agree with you on WoW. Hands down the worst community I have ever seen in any game.

 I enjoy playing WoW but is has the worst community I have ever been involved with and I have transferred servers three times trying to find a decent one. DAoC had the best I had ever dealt with and as for CoH/CoV honestly didn't really get any sense of community.

I would have to say WoW - very closely followed by Guild Wars and CoH/V

Best communities have to be LOTRO and (at one point, not anymore) SWG

WOW has the most immature community, mostly because it has the most players.  But overall, it's friendly.

Everquest 2 has the rudest community; just a lot of know-it-all snobs.  Lots of the "big-man-in-the-fantasy-world, but little-man-in-the-real-world" syndrome.

Worst community I ever experienced for idiocy would be WoW -- but that's sort of to be expected, because so many genuine children play it.

Worst community for hostility? EVE Online, hands down.

I know that's a rough "fend-for-yourself" game, but I'm not talking about in-game ganking or anything. I'm talking about asking for help in the in-game Noob Help channel, and still getting hate-raped (and having to /block certain private harrassing tells) because certain vet players lurking there couldn't believe I didn't understand how crafting worked, or where a certain location was, after X hours of play. You gotta expect a bit of grief sometimes in online games, but this was unreal.

 Friendliest? City of Heroes (Victory server) and LOTRO (Meneldor server)

Those who say WoW has the worst community clearly haven't played f2p mmorpg's, which i doubt in most cases. Then there's the people who think they get some sort of leet status bashing wow.

I'm not saying WoW has a good community, but it's far from worst imo. Oh, and i play on the EU servers, maybe it's different on the other side of the pond.

Must just be me, I never had a problem with the "WOW" community.  I met and gamed with some very cool people there, (both young and old) and have few complaints.

GW's was my choice, mostly because there didn't really seem to be a community......

WoW by FAR has the worst of any pay-to-play game.  In fact if Blizzard banned people for being rude brats they would lose 90% of their customers.

MapleStory has the worst community IMO. Most of the community there are assholes and tell you to fuck off, and some of them are even worse than that. I have been threatened there once by a stranger who told me that he will rape me if I won't give him my items. Also, the community there seem to be very arrogant a
