If you look at the ratio of bots to actual real players, it's totally out of control.  Banning a few thousand accounts once or twice a year doesn't even put a dent into the problem.  But, my opinion, is that if Jagex banned all bot accounts, they would lose far too much money.   Then there are the problems of kids language and behavior... they literally tell me that Jagex will not do anything about it.  It is a major joke to them.   A problem with the game itself is the fact they keep adding things... but don't increase your bank space to accomodate the additional quest items nor change the housing so more items may be added.  What this does is forces the player to either drop the items or "pay" for another player just for bank space.   If Jagex would clean up their act, it would be a good and entertaining rpg.

It is a free game...what do you expect?

The game is a pay to play game... with monthly subscriptions. Yes there are free options, but there is very little in the free portion of the game .. like a trial version lol.

I  agree that bots are a major problem, and they do not care about money loss from banning bot accounts, most bots are free to play anyhow and they do not receive profits from them anyhow.  AS for member bots they need to not only ban the bots, but ban their ip addys  and their main accounts that are being supplied by the bots, That is the only thing that would put a dent in them at all. Have a 3 strike rule, either scamming, hacking or botting from same Ip addy 3 times ande ip addy is perma banned. Yes they may have more than one ip addy, but if they keep up that behavior they will run out eventually.  Now as for kids language and behavior, that happens on every game out there, what would be nice would be an actual enforcement of the 13+ age restriction and possibly some 17+ age servers.  Bank space is greatly needed , I too have been asking them for a long time to make bank updates, and a bank organizer ( tab system). But personally I think the biggest downfall on runescape is how long it takes to do anything at higher levels, chopping magic logs, mining rune ore ect.. they need to speed it up or give you the ability to earn items that will allow you to gain higher skilled rescources faster. There is no reward in the game for the hard work it takes to get 99 in anything, a goofy cape that makes people follow you around  and beg you to do silly emotes is a punishment not a reward.  You work all that way thinking it will get you ahead... only to have the game much more time consuming than it was before.  For those players that actually have a life, it is very hard if not impossible to get anything done in 15min to an hour.

The number of honest players still by far surpasses the amount of people using bots. I know its getting worse though.

I wasn't discussing the f2p game.  I've been told that is even worst.  I'm talking about the two that I pay on a monthly basis which I rarely play.  There is so much that "can" be done but is being ignored which in my opinion comes down to "money" that would be lost.

I agree about the improvement that can be made regarding mining and award system for reaching lvls 99.  And the bank space.  There are some very good points made there.

Jagex can make Runescape a better game with some simple solutions but instead they concentrate on adding more quests that makes me wonder who thinks these up!  And what they have done to the the clue scrolls is so outrageous that I tend to just drop them.

The whole point that I've tried to make here is that I'm paying for game that is continously getting worst instead of better.  Jagex needs to get on the ball and listen to their "paying" customers and make some positive changes.

that right there is so true i mean i am one of the older players of runescape ive quit many times cause of the crap that rs pulls. i started playing right after they updated to rs2 wich was wat 5 years ago and i was paying for like a year i am a member again now for pking but they muted me for such a stupid reason.

It's something like 1 in 400, which equals to about 12k bots.

The average lifespan of a F2P bot is about a week, about a month for P2P bots. They're replaced extremely quickly.
