Since i see a we're angry with SOE thread why not just narrow your anger down. Ok my grip with vanguard now bonus xp week. WTF 50%, what happend to double xp weeks in mmos for the holidays? Eh they robbed us at launch with a piss poor excuse for a game.( and pay us in free eq2 expansions [ thats if you use same account and have eq2 also] and free eq2 play for a few months) So basically they were saying ahh vanguard isnt finished even though its at the stores so we wont let you play this game for free and huhhh go try this one till we have somthing playable. So they release there latest update update 3 which i will admit improves on the game. So basically that leaves me to believe that Vanguard in its state now should of been what was released at launch. So now i believe SOE should refund us for the months of play from january 30th to october 16th. now with that in mind we should also be paid some how for testing there game and finding bugs for there devs to fix. And too you Vanboi's and Vangurl's that have been subbed and playing since launch I salute you!!! You need payment and SOE owes you guys. You stuck it out and recieved nothing but eq2 expansions and packs. They owe you request your payment!!!Now if i seen SOE with a good apoligy not that Here is Every EQ2 expansion and play EQ2 till september for our mess up apoligy. I want a good Year of vanguard to be free to play or at least 7 to 8 months of free play seeing as thats how long it took for the game to be in a sense playble by most PC's. anyways i doubt my rant makes sense but eh i dont care im disappointed with this game and every gamer should be dissappointed with the publisher for releasing this fantastic crap!!! |

Mix in a paragraph and a little grammar. Ouch. I like the bonus xp. I have no problem with it. Your gripe and "reasoning" is stupid. The state of the game at release was no mystery. Anyone who decided to stay, pay an play Vanguard in the condition it was in at release until a few short months ago did so of their own volition. Don't blame Sony because you are too stupid to hit the cancel button. And if you're so confident of yourself, why don't you go post this in the official forums? Better yet, why don't you advocate taking responsibility for your own decisions when you purchase a game that is clearly not in acceptable working form? By the way, Sony isn't responsible for creating the debacle that is/was Vanguard. That would be Sigil's fault. Vanguard is in its currently operating state because Sony bought it and has been repairing it. Go cry to Brad. |

OP, your blame is mis-guided. Stop trying to place blame on SOE for something that they were not involved in developing and causing the problems in the first place. As much as even I applauded Brads ideas, it was he and the management of Sigil who you should be blaming for the debacle that is Vanguards release. If you don't believe me, read the interview he had after SOE took over. He KNEW on launch day that SOE were moving in to buy out Sigil because they had run out of money. He admits he didn't even join in with the launch day party they had because he was so upset and he couldn't tell his own staff at the time. Why did all this happen? Mis-management of such a huge project. Allegedly, he allowed friends of friends to work at Sigil without actually vetting their credentials to ensure that they could actually do what is needed. He insinuated that the game would have fantastic things never seen before in an MMO, but when it came down to it Sigil couldnt even finish off the core components to meet the level of quality in MMO's already released. Let alone bringing in stuff like flying mounts that went further than 1 chunk, player vendors, mounted combat and a game that doesnt crash every 2 mins even on the top of the range machines.. So now ,fast forward 8 months today. SOE have been in the driving seat since May. They have addressed a LOT of issues and are continuing to do so. But there is still a lot of work to be done. In my opinion, the game is about 1 year behind schedule and time is of the essence as far as Vanguard goes. Time, which SOE don't have enough of in order to get the game to a standard to challenge the new MMO's on the horizon. Although they may pull it off yet. For once, this is one game that isn't in a state caused directly by SOE. However, it may yet be SOE that pulls the game back to being what it should have been a year ago. Incidentally, imo granting the 50% xp bonus will cause SOE even further grief. The more people hit top level before SOE are ready to give them content, the more that will be banging on the metaphorical door for it. |

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included. |

Okay i'll admit i'm no fan of Vanguard, but everything negative that can be said about this game has been said already. Repeatedly. In the first 'sentence' of the OPs post i read whining about 50% bonus xp instead of 100%. I stopped wasting my life reading at that point. At the bottom of the post, i see a character oh so cleverly named Destructa. My suspicion that the OP is a tool is confirmed. If you don't like the game, don't play it. The horse is dead Jim! |

whatever guys who love vanguard you dont get the point. Regardless of what sigel did SOE's name is on the launch of this game as they were the publishers so they published this POS. Regardless of the state its in now which i do like it doesnt change the fact that you as the customer were robbed at launch and should get paid for it. MMORPG isnt like going to a movie and seeing a piss poor show. Its about 50 dollars and 14.99+tax a month there after. And excepting what has happend here and supporting this game only will let the developers and publishers know hey these retards will buy anything and who cares if the game isnt playable they will still pay the money they will still play the crappy game. You hate SOE for all there MMOS they mess up on well Vanguard is another example of how SOE ( because starters of sigel are from SOE) will put out crap and you gamers let them and dont protest so they wont do it again. Well whatever you guys need to wake up and smell the coffee. You just dont release crap "PERIOD" now i can forgive the little bugs but the performance of this game at launch was Just a damn picture slide show. Forget how the game plays now its what they did to get you to this point that im concerned about. And to whom it may concern I DONT GIVE A FLYING TURD about my grammer i dont got none wont have none and could care less to have one. This is the net not a business meeting get off it seriously!!! |

You do understand that SOE saved VG not once but twice, right? The second time is quite easy to grasp, when they simply bought out SIGIL, but there is a good chance this game would never have launched had it not been for SOE. This is because about a year before release Microsoft backed out as publishers and SOE came in and saved the project, in fact giving the devs almost another year to work on it. Please spare us this SOE is evil crap, they run a business so does EA, MS, NC-Soft, Turbine and all other gaming companies. They all make mistakes and they all make people angry. If you don't like a game, don't play it. I like VG I play it, I also happen to like EQ2 and LOTRO and play those as well. I don't like Tabula rasa so I don't play that (talk about premature launch there is NO content in that game). I'm happy with VG, not angry. Why would I be angry with a game btw? If it does not make me have fun I will quit and play something else! |

Me and some friends decided to stay despite of the hints "of what was going to be" from our beta playtime. Have had some tears and a bunch of laughters. I sure miss Vanguard .... Off topic i guess |

Originally posted by OBK1 I dont care what they saved once but twice the point is you dont release crap PERIOD. you noobs just keep letting publishers steal your coin just because you love the game a few months after. Its like me selling you a car with no engine and telling you i will put the engine in when i get the bugs out 8 months later. come off your i love vanguard bandwagon. |

Yeah the playerbase was such "retards" that the game had 100k players at launch, and now it has something to the tune of 35k-40k. More than half left! The ones who stuck around, loved the game despite its problems at the time, knowing its true potential. Sigil (Brad Mcquaid and friends), bit off more than it could chew, as the project is pretty ambitioius, and they subsequently dropped the ball. SOE has since been working hard to pick up the pieces left by Sigil, and I must admit, I am quite surprised at the strides they have made. The engine performs infinitely better, with more tweaks still to come, and bugs are getting zapped by the dozens. Update 3 is coming in a week or so, and is going to add more tweaks like hardware occlusion, anti-aliasing, numerous bug fixes, character model updates, and more endgame content like APW, and the overland raids. The state of the game is what it should've been at launch, and while it is unfortunate that the launch was so terrible, I challenge anyone who played at launch and quit, to try it again as it is now, to see if it was what they were waiting 5 years for. In my personal opinion, I can tell you with a wide grin, that it is exactly what I've been waiting for. |

Originally posted by Goldknyght I love this argument. There's nothing more arrogant than some net crusader telling other people what they should and should not do with their own damn money. SOE is not some evil empire. They are not the great Satan. They're just a company trying to make money. It's a friggin' game. Get over it already. |

I dont see where anything i have ever said told you not to do somthing. it said my opinion nothing more nothing less. |

Originally posted by joeyboots And as i said that in my OP you would know my rant was more on the lines of everyone who played this game until now update 3 part 1 that update 3 was what the game should of been at launch. Im asking for my money on testing this pile up to this point. |

OP - "your reward is a finely tuned character." Your reward is whatever you want it to be when you buy a game. Your car example was poorly thought at best. You can play VG in beta and at release. Some things were not in place but you could play it and have as much fun as you let yourself. Next, you said no one has to read this and we are vanbois for answering, You do not write messages like you did without wanting attention, its as simple as that. You could write it in a personal journal if you didn't want people to read it. Finally, your character is level 13. You never played the game more than a few days I would guess at best. You don't know what you are talking about so anyone who sadly read any of this like I happen to, you can leave without regret.
