hey,
i've been looking around for a little while now, and i'm trying to decide what is a good free MMORPG i haven't tried any...yet, but i've sorta got a list but wondering if anyone can tell me if they are any good, or if there are better ones.
so,
there is.
RFonline Perfect World Rappelz Archlord
so if out of all of them which one would be the best, or are there any better ones out there?
also, are there any sorta first person rpgs as in like oblivion (not in graphics or quests and in depth but just first person) |

Big majority of free mmos are just mindless grindfests... sorry I had to write it. But if we forgot about whole grind/farm thing I would be choosing between RFonline/Perfect World. Ehhh but still its only mindless grind. :P According to your last question... I cant remember well but prolly Project Entropia (thats the name?) was playable in 1st person perspective, but I have no idea if this game is even alife. Correct me if I am wrong. Sorry for my eanglish. |

I like space combat. Not space grinding, accounting and taxi service. |

Good with free is an oxymoron. |

Good. Free. Rarely do these two words go together, especially in the case of MMORPG's. But of that list..... RFO is probably one of the better ones, and Perfect World is in an open beta (just loaded that one myself last night to check it out) edit: Another one you might check out is Sword of the New World "Just because you aren't paying doesn't mean it's not PTW." - Amaranthar |

Hmm I haven't had the chance to try out any of those games you listed there. Somehow I just have a gut feeling that it isn't possible to have words "good" and "free" on same sentence if you know what I mean. After you have played some of the MMORPGs out in the market which require a monthly fee, you see they tend to have much more content, stable servers and more polished feeling than the free ones. But if you haven't played any of those yet, these free MMORPGs might be an easy way to try out, if you even like playing on the sandbox with other bullies. :) If you are wondering how the upcoming Pirates of the Burning Sea is, there is an open beta going on, so go on and try it out while it's still free. If you want a free MMORPG from same genre, try out the Voyage Century Online. Last time I checked it was free and some say the game has pretty much to offer from tradeskills to PvP and PvE - and the servers are populated. Can't think of any other free MMORPGs I've personally tested. (Except Guild Wars. For once I were in right spot at right time and some guy willingly gave me his GW account with all the latest expansion. Cheers to him!) |

Perfect World Voyage Century Drift City Freestyle Basketball TBH the last one is really hard to compete in the pro channels without spending at least a little. The other 3 seem to be all good as free games though spending a bit can help if you so desire. Other than those 4 games the rest seem to be grinders that never held my interest for any amount of time. |

Good + Free? hmmmm
Certain Emu servers basicly, they get edited here so... Shadowbane is best free pvp game I can think of..
Best pve free pve would be harder since I think that title belongs to an emu server. Maybe guild wars since its fairly cheap for boxes now and its no monthly fee's. |

Perfect World should be renamed imperfect world, what a disaster and it is most certainly not free as you need to buy things occasionly otherwise you never get anywhere. I did not like RF Online although I know some people that do, I still play Rappelz occassionally, not too bad a grind. |

Originally posted by Ludwix Other than CoX someone, please point me to these P2P titles that aren't "mindless grinds" as they put it. I found Perfect World, RF Online, Granado Espada (SOTNW) nor Guild Wars any more of a grind than EQII, WOW or LOTRO. If you like a game it doesn't feel like a grind but if you don't then of course it does. EQII, WOW etc hadno more compelling quests than GW, PW, RFO and the like. Seriously.. the hemisphere a game is produced in doesn't denote if it's grind or not. This silly unfounded bias is old already.. Dutchess Zarraa Voltayre |

Heres a GREAT FREE MMORPG. Secret of the Solstice This game is being released on Dec. 6th Here's the link to the game site: http://www.outspark.com/game/solstice/ The closed beta was awesome and everyone has been waiting for the release of open beta which is tomorrow so go try it! Its a very pure, simple and easy to play RPG with anime style graphics. It is challenging and has live daily events held by GM's. I loved it and will be playing this game for sure.

Perfect World, Archlord, and Rappelz were all very boring. If you have to pick your poison, I'd go with Perfect World, just because of the character creation process that nearly guarentees you won't be seeing someone else in the game who looks like you. I honestly like Flyff (though there is grind, at least there's more customization in-game), Fiesta (a little grind, but more than enough quests, crafting, and kingdom quests (group instanced quests) to keep you distracted), Tales of Pirates (more grinding a fewer quests, but entertaining) and Puzzle Pirates (but this isn't a traditional MMO). |
