EvE = point and click everything. no independent movement at all.

Jumpgate Evolution = Actually fly your ship, allowing for real combat simulation and allowing use of joystick flight controls, as well as a cockpit view.

Plus J:E has everything else EvE has as far as trade/mining/etc.

Gameplay > graphics any time.

So you are waiting for this game just so you can fly your ship, as that is the only point you brought up.

Maybe a flight simulator is more worth your time.

And from what we've seen with TR, trying to merge FPS elements ( flying your ship by joystick ) with RPG elements just doesn't work. The FPS elements end up getting dumbed down due to people who dont have the FPS skills complaining that they keep getting owned.

Frankly, I'd rather lose my ship to better tactics or better fitting than the other guy getting lucky with his joystick.

That's not the only point I brought up, I brought up that J:E has everything else EvE has. But there is one thing EvE has that J:E doesn't: you don't need to wait a month for a skill to level up in J:E.

 

 

The FPS elements end up getting dumbed down due to people who dont have the FPS skillsing that they keep getting owned.

And EvE has not been dumbed down at all over the years?

Frankly, I'd rather lose my ship to better tactics or better fitting than the other guy getting lucky with his joystick.

Frankly, I'd rather lose to a player who had better actual flying skill than me, than to a guy who is merely locked in orbit around my ship and gets lucky spamming his missiles.

Well, to each his own I guess. I'm quite enjoying EVE at the moment, as I can keep progressing while I am a hermit because of exams.

EVE felt like WOW with spaceships to me.. I really couldnt stand it. I'd much rather a game that requires skill and movement than a point and click kid friendly game...

You just called EvE kid friendly?

Nothing wrong with EvE for what it is. Nothing wrong with liking it, either. I intend to check out a trial after Trinity goes live, and the launch bugs (you know there will be at least one, it is an mmo after all) are squashed.

Just if given a choice between point and click or actual flying skill ( plus the bonus of just enjoying the view from the cockpit as I travel/fight/mine/explore), I'd have to go with J:E over EvE.

Also, trying to advertise EvE in the J:E section is like trying to advertise WoW in the EvE forum. There's gonna be trouble.

You fail to mention the massive scale EVE's universe is. It is much more complicated and diverse.
