BioWare started an Austin Texas branch where a 'top secret' mmo is in development.  BioWare also bought out PANDEMIC, a gaming company with several star wars action titles under its belt while BioWare has probably the best star wars game ever created to their credit, Knights of the Old Republic.

Many of SOE - Galaxies staff members have left SOE and been hired by BioWare... there's more out there to suggest that they're working on another SW MMO but it's all speculation... for now.

In a interview with some maginze they said that there current mmo would not require a licesin SW does. Hopefluy it will be a sci-fi mmo cuz we need a good one. also id have say that battlefront 2 is the best sw game of all time consedering its the highest selling one. but kortor is defintely number 2.

i read that interview too, they didnt say anything about Star Wars Licence axcatly they didnt say anhthing about Star Wars

Still Nobody knows what is the IP of Biowares MMO, it may be SW may be not..

Well maybe not from SOE, but yesterday LA and Bioware announced partnering up to do a revolutionary, gamebreaking project. Here's hoping it's an SW MMO that will break the monotony that EQ/WoW clones bring. I'm seriously tired of fantasy MMO's and I never thought I'd say that since I love fantasy books and movies.

Oh, and I really hope they don't use the same Star Wars Galaxies title... there's just too much bad vibe since SWG. They should call it KOTOR:O or something else, but get rid of the 'G' in SWG 2

Well, since it's official that LA and Bioware are making a joint title together now, only thing left is which liscence is Bioware making?

Likely a New SW Online, but could be Indiana Jones Online (hope not) or Duckworld MMO (yes, I want to be a postal worker with a bill and webbed feet! :P) That kind of limits things down. Or an online Monkey island or Sam and Max, or even Full Throttle. But I doubt it. George always goes back to his one deal,and I bet SWG really stung his Ego, that some guys could come out of left field with purple elves and cows and totally blow away his baby in ANY field must have been a hit to the old guy's ego, he won't let it go with a resounding defeat for sure.

It has been said that it is more than likely, that this deal happened before EA bought out Bioware, and because the contract had been made before this deal, EA can't really get involved. Not without drawing a new contract at least, or through sleazy and sneaky practices (putting an insider to work close to the Bioware team, that sort of thing)

   I hope so, I have been waiting for SWG2 for almost three years. I left SWG right after the combat upgrade. I played WoW for over two years. Left it this past summer for LOTRO, boy did that suck. I still miss playing SWG and just hope that with the new merger that maybe they will develop SWG2. Lets just hope they don't let Sony run it so it can be ruined again.

I, for one, was NOT much of a fan of KOTOR -- infact I really didn't like it that much.

I have no care for the pre-NGE and not someone who's going to be all "oh ladeda i want it back or i'll nev0r play"

If they made a NEW Star Wars NEXT GEN MMORPG based on:
a) The GCW before the movies
b) The GCW after the movies
c) After the GCW (during the new order etc)
d) The Clone Wars

With one of those topics, all the side features *and more* that make SWG unique, and a game engine and graphics of (let's say) something like Tabula Rasa..........That would be uber. None of this KOTOR random stuff.
WHY? Because first off, there is literally millions of people who know the orginal Star Wars franchise than KOTOR in particular.
KOTOR is a video game (keep in mind), far more than it is a concept.

Star Wars, on the other hand, is a story many people know -- and with that, it's much easier to have fun IMO. I enjoy the storyline of the game where it is. Just needs to be next gen and NEW. SWG is just such an old game...NGE or not.

It scares me to hear that Bioware would want to hire any devs from swg. It seems to me they would want a complete clean slate and not have any association what so ever to swg. Not that I am saying the devs are bad because I am sure they did what the corp. People told them to do. I do hope they steer completly clear of swg,and thats coming from a swg vet who liked pre-cu .

GFX of Tabula Rasa?! That GFX is worse than original SWG! Before they "fixed" the gfx

If anything, the character creation of APB and gfx along the lines of Fallen Earth/APB/AoC
