To be frank they are just hotdogs, their girls are relish, and they need to ketchup on their pimpin.

your ship basicly becomes your avatar when you enter the sea or any sea related combat.

 

so, think of your character as double-edged.... one side is the ship and the other is your personal avatar for H2H combat.

Or as I've said before, it's part Eve Online, part Warhammer Online ... only in the Bahamas in the 18th century.
