Downtime is expected to be 8 (eight) hours.

I wish i'd downloaded this expansion now instead of ordering the boxed edition. 

When i ordered this from play.com they had a release date of 13th November.  When i went to check to see if my order had been posted the release date is now saying 16th November.

I've checked Amazon.co.uk & their release date says 13th November but no stock available

I went with the digital download and hope to be downloading Kunark soon when the servers go down.

Servers are down now, dont know when we can download it, hopefully it isnt AFTER the 8 hour downtime, that would really piss me off.

I went to Gamestop the other day and preordered in person. Ever since Friday of last week they've been telling me its coming in the next day. I thought for sure it would be there on Monday, and to my non-astonishment it never came in. They told me to check back today, and I'm worried that it wont be there. If it isn't there I'm withdrawing my preorder from them, and doing digi download.

Gamestop is becoming rather annoying these days. The shop near me is so unorganized and messy. They have so many opened boxes all of their shop but know where absolutely NOTHING is. Organization FTW.

These days Pre-Orders generally aren't given out til the actual launch time. It'll probably be there.

Release dates for new games, dvds, and similar electronic media is nearly always Tuesday of each week.  To give you one before the Tuesday of release is technically illegal, as it would give stores a jump on their competition if they happened to get their shipment before another chain did.   Shipments varying as they do, a common date of sale is set.  When I worked at Blockbuster it was not uncommon for us to get discs a full week or two before we were allowed to actually put it on the shelf.

Yeah, I know of the repercussions that they could have by selling it to me, but I'm curious as to why they keep telling me I can come pick it up the next day if they a) don't have it in, and b) can't legally sell it to me...

Also, someone I was talking to bought theirs at Walmart yesterday, so I'm really just slightly confused by the entire process at this time.

When Ive played games the day of launch, Ive generally bought the game the day prior (i.e. L2, GW, etc.) in person. Maybe it was just my luck back then that I could pick it up the day before launch. Who knows!

they usually have the patch servers ready for patch a few hours before the normal servers come up. i#m not at home now so i canot check yet,  but the patcher might work allready now.

I would but they've already taken the money from my account.  I'm going to email them now & ask if i can have a refund then digital DL  it

 And I am being quite patient today...will play The Witcher for a while as I wait...and I wonder if D2D is ready for download?

You said you ordered it from play.com? it's not like them to take money until the item is ready for shipping, you might find that it's already on it's way to you in the post ready for release date on Friday.

i thought the same thing but now i'm wondering if Rise of Kunark is actually coming from another source?  Monies definetly gone though & still showing pre-ordered status.  I've emailed them so should get a response soon.

Can any UK person confim whether they have received their box copy of Rise of Kunark today or have been able to buy it in the shops today?
