I read some previews and reviews.. some saying good, some saying bad.. but after watching the intro movie, and the idea of the gameplay, I bought the Limited edition of TR. But Honestly, Graphic is not impressive at all.. the gameplay is so very Not impressive.. When killing mobs, all i do is... click and move around.. just assuming moving around would do something different than just standing still and shooting at mobs. Mobs are too easy.. All I do is just.. shoot. sometimes using left click for magic(?) for a less boring attack. I'm really starting to doubt if this game is worth spending time leveling.. because killing mobs at the moment, lvl 4 (yes, true that I didn't even get to lvl5.) is amazingly plain and boring.. And one of the quest I got was... Kill 200 mobs.. TWO HUNDRED?? that was just 'oh-my-goodness'. I've been playing WOW for quite long now, and I've played many other minor mmorpg,(tantra online, ragnarok, rf online, 12skies, maplestory, silkroad, gunzoo online, eve online, LOTR) but I don't know if this game would entertain me better than those previously played mmorpgs. Can somebody give me answer? or some words that This Game IS worth levleing cuz the game just gets better later on..
Thanks guys.

You have to make up your own mind. If it's fun to you, play it. If it's not, don't. Games are supposed to be fun. You're going to get both sides of the coin asking that kind of question here. Better to just make up your own mind. |

So um, you want US to tell YOU if the game you bought, played, and have formed opinions about is worth playing? My answer then would be yes, continue playing. In fact you should buy a years sub in advance. |

Well, play it for the first month, no harm in that since its casual and you don't need to level religiously.. if it loses its charm for you then you can just cancel (which I suspect thousands of others will too..) I've been playing with my friend's account who's already high level and hes already planning on canceling, i don't blame him though. Personally I like it as a casual, Battlefield-like game, where you can just log in once in a while and jump right into combat..but other than that it dosen't offer much. I'd rather spend my money on another MMO, so I won't be playing either. I'm sorry you bought the special edition... ):

Ummm..I think he is looking for other people's opinions on what they think of the game past level 4. He probably just bought the game because it looked cool. Everybody is guilty of doing that every now and again. That being said, the game sucks no matter what level you are playing. My opinion. Others will disagree with me (most of whom are probably just not willing to admit that they have wasted time and/or money on this game so will continue throwing good money after bad to convince themselves that this game is good) but, that is why it is called an opinion. Hope this helps. |

Originally posted by ckato81 Ok let me start off with this. Tabula Rasa's graphics not impressive? Considering you played WoW alot... Compare their graphics... Tabula Rasa may not have THE best graphics out there, but it has really good looking details etc. Plus the environment is absolutely AMAZING. I disagree, the gameplay CAN get repetitive, but thats not necessarily a bad thing. I REALLY enjoyed the quests etc (especially the ones that come after level 5 etc). What do you do in FPS games? You click and move around, just aim where you want to shoot. In Tabula Rasa you use different abilities, you use cover to block some damage etc etc. The combat system is what I really loved in Tabula Rasa, it may not be a huge skill based system or anything but was definately nice. Well Im not sure about the mobs easy stuff, I agree the mobs were really easy in beta; But I heard they really made the gameplay harder (Can some1 clarify me on this one?) Tabula Rasa may not appeal to everyone, just like any other MMO out there. If you feel its not for you then tough luck... About the killing 200 bane quest, its supposed to last you through out the first zone. Thats kind of like an initiative for players to kill the banes that drop off and not just say "Meh, why bother" which I think is a very clever thing to do.
Do note that im basing all of this from my beta gameplay experience, I have heard that the game has improved a lot now. If im wrong anywhere please anyone feel free to correct me (talking about facts, not opinions |

I bought 2-Worlds just cuz the casing looked cool and features looked nice, 100% waste of my money though. |

I am curerntly lvl 22 and loving it. You can switch between RPG and FPS controlls. PS : How can you buy a game just on the basis of what the box looks like ? Thats crazy talk Casual cross-game mmorpg guild. Minimum age requirement of 25. Gunbad.com |

FYI, when it comes to those "target of opportunity" quests ("Kill 200 x mobs") do not go out of the way try to do them: You will end up getting those many mobs just naturally from playing the game. Lower level game is easy. It gets tougher as you go along. Here's some things you need to do in order to better appreciate the game:
Tabula Rasa is an interesting game in that you can play it like your average MMORPG, but if you do so, you'll miss the point. |

yeah.. I was just wondering if the game gets any better at higher level.. i guess i said stuff too much that i missed my point. anyway thanks to all for the replies. cheers |

Tabula Rasa will probably never win the hearts and minds of players who are utterly dedicated to "traditional" MMORPG design (WoW is now a classical example of this). What the intention is, I am guessing, is to appeal to players who like more fast action akin to First Person Shooters mixed in with RPG stats. As such, take any one of your favorite FPS games to date (if you don't like any, you're playing the wrong game) - you could argue that all you do is shoot. Yes, Tabula Rasa is similar, but the fun of the combat itself doesn't come from the 87 different spells you can cast, it comes from running around the map jockeying for the best position to fight from and holding on to it for as long as you can - and being quick on the trigger. Take a competitive FPS for example, like any of the Battlefield series or Team Fortress 2: You could argue that there is very little variety in the way combat is executed, but that would be missing the point. |
