there are some rumours around that Bioware has bought license for SW MMO.

The rumor i remember reading was that it was the  KOTOR license that bioware or the company that runs them bought.  but i also remember reading in the same article that there were other things that made it  seem  more likely that they were just making another kotor game, not an mmo.

To OP: Hey I hope you still read these forums, and I'd like to point out how wrong you are, servers that were once thriving with players and an economy are now ghost towns and playerbase is now below 50,000.  At one point there was a report that only shy of 10,000 players logs on at peak hour on a Friday or Sat night.

And yes JTL did kind of save the community a little from the ones that left for WoW when it launched, when I was in my guild it was about 200 members before WoW, shrank to about 120 members even throughout JTL then when the CU came out it shrank to about 50 members then with the NGE it shrank to 15 then disbanded.

Of course EQ has been going for a long time since 1998 but the population in it has been sitting around under 100,000 subscribers for a few years- I'm surprised they even get enough revenue to maintain the servers.  I know in SWG they will eventually have to merge and take down a few of the servers to balance out the lower revenue.

Speaking of sinking, I think it's sinking like the Titanic sank.

I did a little searching, on Ebay there is only one person selling SWG (or station pass) game cards, and my local EB Games doesn't carry it nor will bother ordering them because nobody in my town plays it anymore.  Also when I went to some electronic stores,there was not a single copy of SWG to be found anywhere but in the "Best of Star Wars PC Games" which was bundled with some older SW games like Jedi Accademy, a year ago I saw a few of those station pass packs, also around Christmas last year I came across a full copy of Jump to Lightspeed expansion pack (which became free after ToOW released) for $39 CDN on the shelf!

And questionable accuracy of mmogdata shows barely 49,000 is subscribed to SWG, which I believe seems about right and I'm assuming people with multiple accounts which is what I used to do.

I had some guys who worked at EB hand me half a dozen prepaid cards of SWG for free since they wernt selling. I have yet to use them. That was at the beginning of 2007.

It ISN'T sinking? Well.. it ought to.... not because I don't want a star wars MMO but because I want a STAR WARS MMO that doesn't suck hairy donkey gnads...

Lucky lol! I've been considering trying out this chapter 6 and 7, but I don't feel like wasting my money. If it was free I'd reconsider, but that's just because there hasn't been any good sci fi mmo out there.
