I was one of the first kids of my grade to play an MMO, it was fourth grade, I usually played around 7-9 A.M. every day in the morning before school, playing  on test center doing factions, or playing on Atlantic sheering sheep, making bandages was the only thing I really knew how to do. I just wanted to put my 2 cents on a once 4th grader playing UO to a sophmore nowadays who played SWG and Lineage 2 that never brought me the same feelings UO did, man I miss it.

-Love you Uo, always.

We the Unwilling, Lead by the unknowing, Doing the impossible for the ungrateful

Many fond memories of UO... way back when, I was in a PK heavy guild and we used to run amok in some of the nastiest places in the realm.  Was always a good feeling to drop a group of ppl killing the ancient dragon just to see their amazement that we kill the dragon afterwards with little trouble too.  I loved the crafting aspect of the game and had made a huge chunk o cash making GM armor and weapons.  Funny I rarely used any of it I just ran around in my undies with a katana and poison Pk'n to my hearts content.  Had max magic resist, mad agi/dex I forget.  and enough potions to kill a horse and the owner.  Good times good times.  I've seen how they have evolved and may jump back in to it at some time.  Its just the nostalgia of the game that brings a tear to my eye.  Btw, UO wasn't the first MMO.  It was close but I think Darksun on TEN was the first persistant MMORPG of sorts don't quote me on that but those were the days of duke 3d and /cringe mindspring internet service before the days of cable and 56k modem /tear.  I still have a copy of it on my system and play private servers from time to time but can't justify paying for the game now.  However EQ is approaching 10 years and is still going strong contrary to popular belief.  not many games have a tenure of more then a year or 2 at best but there are gems like doom, quake and the like that stand the test of time.

Well, from the latest game review coming out of darkfall forums it sounds like we'll have our UO back, and 5X's that.  Ships with cannons, looting, pvp, smiths(not item based!) , thiefs, good vrs bad, mount fighting, just all around fun.

Im hoping It doesn't come out soon though, atleast another year.  That way I can concentrate on my second degree a lil longer!

Can EA say that about UO? Rofl.

I mean yeah lots of changes, but a big change that truly sucked happened about 4 years ago in  febuary. The game is basicly a new game. It should have changed its name along with age of sorrows expansion.

O how I long for classic UO pre the second age, but I would settle with anything pre-pub 14.

i wish we can have the old UO back, then ill definately start playing UO again.

I just recently returned to UO with the Kingdom Reborn.  Things have changed in the 2+ years I've been away, but the game is still a lot of fun and a joy to sandbox MMO fans who are seeing fewer and fewer of that style.  Kingdom Reborn isn't real stable yet, but it's playable and certainly looks nice.  The quest engine added with Mondain's Legacy is a good move too.  There's still life in this game.  And the community has been paired of a lot of the painful players, so it's a very nice community.  Get back soon, 'cause there's even housing space available again.  I moved my characters over from Oceania to Chesapeake, which is in my time zone, and put up a nice 18x18 house first week back.

If you  are looking for that sandbox style of fun we knew from pre-CU SWG and Horizons, you really won't find much better anymore than UO.  And if you enjoyed UO before, c'mon back and give it a try.  It's still got all the charm it once had.  The Lizardmen still cry JusTINzah, the ogres still Or Lor, the orcs are still mumbling, and there's a lot of changes to the landscape (not as drastic as poor Yew, but there's new caves and things scattered throughout the Realm).  And, for those of you who missed the pointy ears, there are elves now too.  :-)

This is a paragraph of BS.  Sorry, but if you enjoyed the charm UO once had, your not going to find it in KR.  Sure its "new"  but UO is stuck trying to be the old school game its known for, while at the same time trying to be like WOW which basicaly makes it crap since it doesn't know what direction it wants to go in.  Theres no pvp (its unbalanced), no smiths needed,  Basicaly its PVE for god items, and decorate your house.

Wanna talk about a great community?  Half of them complain about anything that doesn't work in their favore.  It gets kinda old actually.

Im not sure where you got all the great stuff out of UO.  If you are board and have nothing else to do, then yeah.  download the free trial and play it for the month.  Other then that, its not worth paying the monthly fee.
