Ask a question and you are stupid for 30 seconds, never ask and you are stupid for life.

I don't know too much, but I'm mostly interested cause it sounds unique. And I guess what got me the most is by looking at the forums is how nice the community seems, at least at the moment.

What about you? Why did you get interested in TCoS?

First off, its TCoS and not CoS.

And we all got interested in this game because it looks like an orriginall concept.

yeah, well it still meant THE Chronicles of Spellborn, I just didn't include the T in it, it still made sense has CoS, but whatever...I've seen it said both ways.(TCoS and CoS).

Curiosity. I had just become interested in the genre when I heard a Dutch company by the name of Khaeon was developing an mmorpg. Had never heard of the company, while the Dutch game developers could be counted on the fingers of one hand.

So, a small, unknown game developer had started developing an mmorpg even before the arrival of WoW. I had low expectations.

The lore was interesting and I think that got me hooked, since the artwork, though highly original, did not appeal to me at first. Later I heard about other features of the game, like the combat system, saw some videos, and while the game growed it seemed to get better and better.

Later, after many many months of waiting I got to play the game in closed beta and now I cannot imagine wanting to play any other game but TCoS. (Sorry, cannot say anything more due to NDA).

About a year ago, when we got fed up with WoW,  me and a friend explored teh internetz for a good MMO. To my surprise, I found an MMO that was quite unlike the standard procedure ( like, pick 10 korean MMO's , odds are that 9 out of 10 resemble eachother completely and WoW isn't "new"in that perspective either )

As a kid, I used to play Soulreaver (1) a lot. It was one of the few games that graphics wise impressed with a twisted and decayed world. Once I saw screenshots of tCoS (CoS more likely, because it's also not tLoTR, but LoTR) I was hooked immediately. The second thrill, came from the very first video of their character customization, showing humans, like they really are.

In most MMO's, humans are flatfaced, have horrible proportions and hardly seem to be human in the way we see ourselves in the mirror( Therefore, I never play humans). in CoS, the human is expressionistic, it's proportions haven't been flattened, but exaggerated and the shapes resemble the true nature of the human far more, from skinny to bulky, from small bones to truly fat.

These facts were the things that drove me to signing up for beta, but inbetween, some things started to cloud my horizon.

When I signed up, BETA was supposed to start in 2 weeks. Checking back daily, it took me 4 weeks to realize, that either they didn't announce the start of beta, or it would be delayed, for some reason. It ended up with beta being delayed.

Since then , I've only checked it out several times and I never got that beta pass to see if the game itself could fullfill my expectations and the media also mostly left the game in a side-trail. In comparison to WAR, which I will also definitely be playing, there was absolutely no new information at a decent pace.

I almost thought the game might die an early death, but it seems it will launch after all and I'm happy about it. December is a good time, christmas, my birthday..and CoS.
