I can't believe it, just when you think they can't possibly screw the game up any more, I log into the only server that hasn't crashed and run a new toon through bootcamp. I just managed to scrape through without getting killed, it took me three times as long as before, and my guns hardly did any damamge at all, I had to let the npc's take out the mob bosses because I couldn't do enough damage to even strip their armour off, let alone hurt them. I can see so many people being put off right there, I wonder who's ridiculous idea it was to crank up the difficulty right from step one? What a tit. Currently none of the servers are anything close to being stable, they've tried to deal with the line ups for the logos by instancing them, and that was about as far as I got before the server I was on crashed Man, and I thought TR was in trouble *before* this patch, it's gotten even worse It is SO not ready for prime time, and that is really too bad, for a game that has so much potential, the devs seem to be doing nothing but fnding new and innovative ways to shoot themselves in the foot. I am so dissapointed in myself for wasting 5 bucks on the pre-order, wonder if I can get my money back? |

I like some of the stuff they have done control points are awesome now. No other MMO has offered me a continuous huge battle all the time like that. There were literally over a hundred bane at the hydro plant. They had linkers and the huge kael, busted down the forcefield we would have lost the CP if it was not for a couple level 30's. I was falling behind in my quests because I just kept defending control points. On the other hand I can't do jack to a walker type mob. Well actually I can't tell because the float numbers are weird. they only show when you do health damage and don't show for shield damage. So I think I was doing damage and not realizing it. They said they would have a server instability fix in today. Frankly anyone who is in a Beta should expect regular crashes on the say of any patch. Yeah the crashes and rollbacks were certainly annoying, but that is what testing is about. You are gonna get wiped before release anyway. I dunno I can't really see how they can release by Oct. 19 but all in all this is a pretty good patch for anyone who has ever tried the game past level 15. Unfortunately most people never even bothered to look at zones like ashen desert and just smash the game. Heck most of these guys don't even know what Ashen Desert is. |

They needed to make it a lot harder because the game was more of a scenic tour of their graphics than any kind of fun ----- |

I can understand cranking the difficulty up once you get out of the lower levelled areas, but in bootcamp? wtf was going through their minds? 'let's just crank up the difficulty globally, who cares if some people never make it out of bootcamp?' just another terrible decision in a long line of terrible decisions |

Was this changed late last night or this morning? I was playing for a bit last night before I got kicked and went to bed. Made it to the 1st logos cave and finished that quest. Killed the bosses and all the random trash, dont think I got below 75% health. Used a shotgun close up with 5pt health steal and 10pt AP rifle for longer range. |

my question is how are they going to deal with the influx of players during launch? Everyone doing the beginner quests? It'll be interesting to see how they deal with it...
Since as it stands I couldn't find anything to kill. |

That seem to be the highest population area too. Just go over to thehandy dandy transporter thing and selecting another wilderness area. That will solve the problem most likely. |

One thing I noticed they have cleared the log jam on the very first logos that everyone gets a quest for by turning the logos shrine into an instance. So no more 50 players standing around waiting for a turn at the shrine.
I even jumped my level 7 character over to divide to help someone get to the life logos. So I was running around killing lvl 15 bane. Yes I had to take them one at a time, but when they were shooting me it didnt seem to do much damage. And as someone said - The attacks on the bases. I got the bug where you cant draw a weapon, so I thought I would just run around, grab a few logos, head over to the Landing Zone - when I got close the place was swarming with bane, there was a Kael and a linker outside. I ran like a scared bunny to get in the door. |

I found last night with a new character, crouching with a rifle made a big diferance to the damage I did. Also, being more than 20 meters away. Shotgun worked best at about 8-12 meters. Melee attack didnt seem to do much but pull agro. Pulled the animals with the rifle, switched to the shotgun, if it was an arms race to get agro 1st. I pulled with rifle and lightning. But ya, level 5 in 2 hours, rarely used sprint, took my time and health never went below 75%. No need to use one of the newbie health packs. |
