I'd be concerned if they were involved in the game design. But they aren't... so I'm not Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence. |

Well I decided to do a little reading on forums about this game. I was shocked when I came across this Thread. SOE is not a good thing. SOE has a bad rep with the gaming community. I was so disappointed to learn this. I guess I'll wait till after a year to see what happens with the game. In my opnion, SOE will have full control of the game by then. This is disappointing :( |

Does it matter which power company supplies the power to your computer? Electricity is electricity. Same with SOE, does it matter who the publisher is? I liked Planetside. I hated what they did to SWG. I payed subscription to one, and cancelled subscription to the later. And I don't throw money away with a station pass (idiots). hah! Although later, I cancelled Planetside because there were Orbital Strikes going off every 30 seconds, and that was totally lame. The devs should have had the foresight to recognize that after several years, half the playerbase would have the OS (Jedi equivalent). Players will grind towards the alpha class cause players are spoiled little brats. But I showed them and now they are down $12.95 because they didn't bow to my wishes to remove the Orbital Strike. Now theres a recession, and Alan Greenspan is talking about how Republicans deserve to lose! I showed them all haha! Its all happening because of me! They should have listened to me, but no they stubbornly insisted to keep the orbital strike. Even now the Earth now tilts on its axis because the truth of that statement. |

This mmo podcast sums up my opinion of the SOE Hate Cult. Most people nowadays are just parroting what everyone else says about SOE, with little actual knowledge or personal experience with anything bad that SOE has done. Hating SOE is just 'what you're supposed to do' so people just follow along. |

What, that the fanbase starts donning tinfoil hats whenever the company gets mentioned, even if current history shows no basis for it? EQ2 keeps improving all the time. Vanguard was a tranwreck before MS even dumped it, and SOE saved it from being trashed forever. PotBS is using SOE just to manage their billing and marketing, and people are screaming for boycotts of FlyingLabs just for associating with them. I mean, that's a frothing-at-the-mouth level of overreating. People are irrational about SOE, regardless of what the company did in the past. People draw negative connections were there isn't any -- they're making stuff up when current reality doesn't support their hate (like who's to blame with Vanguard). Most people have never even personally experienced anything bad from SOE -- they're just following the herd because they figure that hating SOE is just what all respectable MMOers are supposed to do.

FFS, I was looking forward to this game to. Now that Sony is involved it's pretty much dead already, both in game and community :/ I saw a lot of old SWG players waiting for this game, theres NO WAY in hell they are going to stick around for SOE to screw them over yet again. SOE have messed up just about every MMO they have touched. EQ2 was nowhere near as successful as the origional, and it still has serious problems. Vanguard never took off at all. I don't even have to talk about SWG. SOE are only interested in milking money from MMOs for a while then move onto the next. They do not care about the game or it's players at all.

Originally posted by Pomy Agreed, having played quite a few SOE-touched games I just hope they don't muck up this game.
I quite like PotBS so far and am looking forward to purchasing it. Though I'll make sure I'll get a final demo just in case. Vanguard would have to be the most amateur game ever. Cheers, Seebeh |

WOW! I bet SOE regret ever touching SWG lol so many ex Jedi's frothing at the mouth running around wanting to take some SOE employe and shove their imaginary light sabers where the sun dont shine! lol Tbh this is a stupid thread 'cus SOE haters are never going to listen to reason and just keep hating till they die SOE defenders are just wasting breath on the haters and may as well just ignore em. As for me, I'm going to pay my subscription to SOE, play the game, and enjoy it because after all it is just a game and nothing more :) |

It really doesnt matter if SOE buys out POTBS or not. SOE will still be capitalizing on the game so many folks who have been burned by SOE will stay far far away.

MadmanUSA said: If you have not noticed English is the most spoken language in the world.
I'm pretty sure the billion or so people in China will take issue with that statement.

The billion or so people in China are only about 1/3 the worlds population, and a lot of them speak English as well. That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming! |

Took about 10-15 minutes to google it.
