I just quit eq(was hard leaving my 8 toons with caped aa), now im looking for a mmo thats different.  cause i gotten sick of the fantasy setting for mmo's

Wait for "The Agency" or something like that I guess, If you have gone thru all those games and are still disatisfied then maybe your just one of those people who are just too hard to please!

There is no MMO norm.

if thats your MMO list, there is only a few left.

But from what i hear, City of Heroes/Villains is a great game, even though it doesnt have a very prolonged gameplay, it should be a great deal of fun.

Heh, you just listed the only two games I might have bothered mentioning in the light of that title.

As the above poster says, there really isn't much left worth trying.

You think theres a game that strays from the MMO norm?  Ok, even though your list is twice as long as mine, I'll give you some names.  Planetside and WWIIONLINE.  Planetside if your a FPS junkie, WWIIONLINE if your half and half FPS/RTS junkie.  (WWIIONLINE is not RTS, its just slower paced so you have at least 2 more seconds to think about your next move, instead of rapidly wearing out your keyboards ASDW keys.)

Have a look at City of heroes/Villains ( there is a 14 days free trial, it worth the look IMO ). Or you can try Sage of Ryzom ( I never played it, it is a "sandbox game" once you left the tutorial island  with a lot of skills customization, there is also a free trial I think ).

I played almost everything you mentioned and some you didnt, i can only suggest Ryzom, it is different from anything you played, has gorgeous graphics and a very nice community. Its a game of highest quality and has a free trial. If you are looking for something different its worth a try.

Ryzom is great fun.

It gets into a nasty grind, but the community is the best in the MMO world that I've witnessed.

I'd recommend CoX (City of Heroes/Villains) if you want to try something that isn't of the norm myself. That or wait a few weeks for Tabula Rasa, that's a pretty abnormal MMOG, though I wouldn't personally say it's that good a one.

your list reminds me of my own mmo career :)

for games that are already released, the ones that might be different in gameplay have already been mentioned

besides that       real life isnt bad either  ;)      ..........no kids, RL isnt a new mmo, but nevertheless it has nice graphics and gameplay is what you make of it

pirates of the burning sea. its not out yet but everything out is quite similar.

Ryzom is definitely different, play it until Chronicles releases.

Well you list look very similar to mine !! I enjoy beta testing tabula Rasa but i don't know if it will be my main game for long !!

CoH / CoX are not to bad if you want a change too !!!

if you want something totaly diff then give space cowboy a go, its not reccomended on the site because of obvious reasons, but it kept me going for a month and if you want something totaly different (and free) then give it a go, you have nothing to lose other than your love for shooting birds down in a space ship.. oh i ruined the early quest sorry

I really am not trolling to bash on TR, but it's honestly not anything different from what he has played. If you look a bit further into it, the combat system and everything else is the exact same (collect x kill y) but in a spacesuit. Only difference is you cant go up close n personal until your level 40 orso, instead you just sit back and shoot like a WoW hunter on auto-attack, except you gotta click your mouse.

If you want something different, try Hellgate:London which is coming out on halloween in the USA, and 2nd of november in europe.
