Yesterday the server whent down while i was in the middle of a long mission. Came back and all the mobs were reset. Not happy but shit happens. I understand that after the python upgrade there are alot of kinks to work out. |

Sorry I think people are just to fast to complain, WoW has more downtime in a given week than EvE has all year. |

Glad I set a long skill in training It's EVE. Seriously, if you're in a hurry you probably won't last, and if the server is down your ship should be cozy in the warp waiting for you once they get it all together again. But as much as CCP do rather routinely break things, they do fix them too, and they add content without making you pay for expansions: have to like that bit. If you want to try something really "curious" you can always give Vanguard a go, it's great except for (insert serious game-breaking issue here). Repeatedly falling through the world in the newbie High Elf area is really annoying! That was yesterday, today I logged into Leth Nurae, turned left, and crashed. So yup, EVE is positively shiny compared to certain other games out there right now! |

Sorry, I dont miss server problem days, rather enjoy not have to worry if I get kicked or lag out while playing a online game. hehehehehe Oh buy the way, CCP ranks withen the top 100 for 'Biggest' most powerful, largest computer systems in the world. But they still have the blokes takeing care of it....thats the problem right there. |

the issues actually started one day before the patch....so not a patch problem, get your facts straight at least before complaining...
Problems do happen sometimes and eve's server is more complex than anything else, the problems are just more noticable because its one server, not several hundreds. Knowledge is Power! |

we've always had hiccups around the update time. It's part of the experience as much as moaning about downtime when it happens. As for recent outages in service .. hehe those who have been around eve since beta know too well how this does not even come close to the outages we had early in even history. But for what it's worth eve has had rather execellent uptime thruout its history and 1 hour dt window every day doesn't bother me at all . I'm usually at work at that time and at weekends it gives me time to shave and pee like a human. pun intended lol

People who can only complain about such issues clearly have no clue about technology and engineering. Can't you even THINK about how complex software / hardware can be ?? If you think it's all that easy and straightforward, then i suggest you start coding your own MMORPG right away and next year you'll be rich! |

They had some pretty serious DB issues with the database server. Unfortunately it caused some pretty nasty instability through the weekend. Seems they finally nailed it and got it fixed though, hasn't crashed since the last patchnote that states the DB issues were fixed. I'm the first person to agree that CCP has patch issues now and then but it's not "every" patch as some here have said. I'd say about 50% of the patches they have released go through without a hitch. The ones they're doing now in prep for Revelations 3 are making some pretty significant changes to the code base though so stuff is bound to break. Not giving them a pass on it.. It WAS annoying. But they did acknowledge their problem and did work very dilligently to fix it. I can recall other MMO's where issues like this would drag on for weeks before being fixed. Remember: EVE handles over 30,000 players on the database at a time. No other game has to handle that load. Takes a bit more to figure out what's wrong when it's only triggered at a certain usage threshold. |
