Hello all,

Wanted to briefly introduce myself and invite anyone here to discuss Football Superstars.

My name is Steve Marshall. I am the Creative Director for CyberSports, the publishers of Football Superstars.

The first post here asked if anyone plays this game. Your right in that nobody plays currently (Apart from everyone here in the office ) as we have not released yet. However we are getting VERY close to opening up for Beta, we're now only a number of weeks away and as a result are accepting registrations to the newsletter which will include the opportunity to be one of the first to try Football Superstars through our Beta participation program launching soon.

Will there be a monthly fee? If yes, how much?

Game looks great so far.  I currently play a MMO style baseball game ultimatebaseballonline.  The thing I don't like about it is you just play the game and nothing else to it.  I like how you are adding something more to it.

The game will be free to play, with a subscription option for those that wish to unlock some additional features, but by playing the free version of the game you will be able to play as much football as your heart desires

Just wondering will the game be browser based or client based?

The game will be client based, our graphical style and realistic motion captured gameplay wont facilitate a browser based game :)

I was chosen as a beta  tester but when i tried to

participate in the contest it said my e-mail wasn't

registered , so I'm no longer beta tester?

I think this will be an awesome game.  I am interested to know more details... such as 3d/2d, contracts, sponsorship, etc.  I guess it will all come in due time.

I am very interested, being a regular player of console soccer titles and someone who enjoys playing MMOs (and, of course, a person who watches the Premire League every time it comes on here in the States).  After looking over your site, I can honestly say that the game looks to be absolutely wonderful.  I particularly love the artwork for the stadiums (the City Stadium most of all, due to the fact that it displays the game's philosophy rather well).  I've already signed up for the newsletter, but I feel I should ask about one bit that confused me somewhat.

In the gameplay section, the play style was described as something similar to an FPS.  And, while I do enjoy Half Life & Halo every now and again, I was a bit taken aback, being that I expected the game would be shown from a third person view during the match.  Did I read this section incorrectly, or is that how the game was intended to be presented?

I am not a dev just a fellow MMO fan but if you have a look at the article from the guardian it shows the game in play and it is similar to the FIFA style of play or the normal 3rd person aspect.  The link is on the home page under the latest news section.  I'll see if I can add the url here.  The article is really good and also has a video embedded showing the game play.  Hope to see you in game!

Thank you Never, they pretty well shot down any fears I had about the game.  Gameplay looks amazing even so early on.

Another introduction; I'm the Community Lead for Football Superstars.  I wasn't aware that we had a community here until today, but now that I've stumbled upon it I guess I ought to... lead it, I suppose 

I'll be checking in here from time to time to answer any questions you might have and to generally have a good old chinwag with you all.  In the meantime you'll most probably find me patrolling the forums at www.footballsuperstars.com

I stumbled across this game by pure chance after seeing it jump up the hyper meter to 6.88. I was pleasantly suprised to see that it was based on actual football (rather than american football) and decided to do a bit more research. I have to say it's looking good, and the fact that they are sponsoring Sheffield FC shows they mean business.

One question I have however; I've seen screenshots of female characters - will men and women play for the same teams or will teams be gender-specific?

There won't be any gender separation in FS.  Male and female characters can play in the same teams.
