I got so much |
Straight question - which MMO has the best GAMEPLAY in your opinion ? I am not talking about which is the best MMO , or do you even like the MMO in question. The question is how FUN is the gameplay itself.
My vote would be 1. City of Heroes / Villains - (stayed because of incredibly fun combat gameplay, left because of repetitive missions) Notable would also be: WOW ( althought some classes are bore to play - read paladin) Guild Wars

Biggest rush of fun had to have been WoW, next to that was guild wars, until i reached level 20 and then well, well thats really it. |

None, all MMO's gameplay seems to be based on repetition and linearity. Some are mildy fun, but ive yet to find a MMO that has me clamoring to play it for longer then a week. --- |

Honestly I'd have to say the most enjoyable gameplay I've experienced was in Vanguard with a Blood Mage. The flow of combat was awesome as a healer; the reactions to spells and crits, dps healing, having an offensive and defensive target, and a whole arsenal of things that I could do. Its too bad that other things killed the game for me after reaching level 50. I'd agree with CoH/Cov, and I'd rate combat as pretty close second, but everything else in that game became stale and repetitive after a while. Playing and/or leveling a Pre-CU Jedi would have to be in my top three. I really do miss the thrill of it, and I find it sad that nobody will be able to experience this ever again. From the rest of the games I've play in order.. WoW, Guild Wars, EQ2, EVE, 9Dragons, Ryzom, NGE SWG. SIMs Online (ok just kidding)

Eq2 is the mmo i've played the most and if i didn't play it i would probally have more resolve to play vanguard. Vanguard is the rpg for me but i just can't sit down and play rpgs anymore. Once i find a good player skilll based mmo it will be my favorate, until then i would have to say all mmorpgs are equal because i have no desire to play any of them. |

After playing many different MMO's and similar games: EQ, EQII, Asheron's Call, Vanguard: SoH, LOTRO, Final Fantasy, WoW, Guild Wars, DDO, Rappelz, and a few others, I would have to say that without a doubt, WoW has the best gameplay by far. That's my opinion anyway. |

I missed out on Ultima Online by a year or so, which is a pity, because it sounded perfect for me; so far, I would say that Everquest had the best gameplay. Now, it's a different story, there isn't anything truly perfect for me that I can think of, although I would claim, without too much trouble, that the best gameplay on the market at the moment would be Everquest II or EVE Online. |

WoW before they introduced AQ, atleast on my server at the time battlegrounds hadn't killed of the world pvp so it was a great game, and i wouldn't say class balance was as big of an issue as it is now. Now i wouldnt say any mmo has particully fantastic gameplay, they are all the same boring repetive grinds. Only mmo i have been looking forward to playing since is pirates of the burning sea. gave my hopes up on darkfall years ago, although mmos are catching up with that sort of ideal gameplay for a pvper, so i guess in 2 years mmos should be great again :) |

Overal gameplay : World of Warcraft Best skill and attribute distribution and customization : Anarchy Online Best Casual ( soloable ) game : Asheron's Call Best raid progression : EQ1 ( up until the dragons expac, then it just got silly ) Best crafting system : nearly impossible to learn without help, but fun once you do...Anarchy Online Most customizable avatar : City of Heroes/Villains Best PvP environment : World of Warcraft
These are just my opinions based on the many games that I've played and tested. |

I'm going to have to say EvE, even though I don't play it anymore. It has just about everything you could want. But, I think I got so addicted to WoW that I couldn't handle it. Damn WoW and it's simplicity. Just saying this makes me want to go back to play it. Everything you gain in EvE means so much more than something I've gotten in other MMO's. I will never forget my first cruiser, or my first interceptor. Gamer by nature, |

I played every MMO on the market, by far the only game that got me the most is FFXI and Koei's Enchanting water (the great age of sail) how ever FFXI is best gameplay for me, The reason this is so good is, i enjoy the party system alot. Soloing usually too boring once you do it over 1 hour or more, but playing in parties, i could chat with the people i party with and we could do alot thinking into what role each person does and what strategy will we use. Timing attacks for special skillchain is also fun. Story wise, without a doubt, FFXI have the best story or rather a linear story-line then any game i ever played. I always liked how Asheron's call have a monthly storyline, but the developer started to lack once the shadow war was over. FFXI provided great story and especially chain of promethia, from all the FF series i played so far, i loved how it turned out. The game is especially challenging when doing the BCNM and dynamis and such. The assaults are fun and objective, not all hack and slash but there are many mini-game from these assaults. Hence without a doubt FFXI is the best gameplay in my option. Of course, you do have to deal with the fact, its hard to find groups and earn money and the game doesn't begin until level 55+ but its just like every game if you look at it. Maybe just me, i prefer game that challenge and FFXI is the most challenging MMORPG i ever played or rather on the market. none |

I'd say dark age of camelot. But that's also because the community at that time was "different" and it was my first one.Just being able to chat with people in a persistant world was something great. The teaming was fun and experimental and allthough pvp was mostly running with 70 people into an enemy camp of 100 it was pure fun.No one complained about end-content or zerging. No one complained about not having the uberweapons or not being the highest level. It was just about having fun and interacting/teaming up...nothing more and that's all it should be about. Runner up would be eve online. But that's a lill double edged since i had my most boring times in eve online while mining and yet had times in wich i had more fun in that game then i ever had in any game. |

After most of the big MMOs are mentioned, I suggest another direction: Puzzle Pirates All activations packed in little puzzle games, easiest to group, making a new char and win against a veteran through skill. Not the most serious suggestion, but MMOs with different ideas for the win. ;) |

WoW can at least claim title to this IMO. Regardless of what you might think about the graphics and linear gameplay the interfaces is top notch. I've never played a game with a nicer interface and the movement/interaction is extremely smooth. |
