No stealth? Come on are they serious, they are  trying to be inovative by removing one of the most integral parts of 1/3 of all players gaming style?

IT doesnt make sense, wasn't there stealth in WAR?

What about the assassin? where is the assasin?

Fair enough. Some people like stealth, others don't. I think thats a pretty valid reason if you are the type of person that always plays stealth characters.

Personally I won't miss getting one shotted by invisible enemies.

There is no stealth in WAR - there has never been stealth in WAR.

Assassins? Yes they work in the Table top game but having a class that can 1 shot people does not work in a PVP game (its not very balanced).

I think its just to make the game easier to balance. But your concern and reason to not play this game is valid if you enjoy playing stealth. More power to you.

I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad, The dreams in which I'm dieing are the best I've ever had.

You seriously wont play the game because of a lack of stealth? You don't like the lore, the graphics, the way the gameplay is looking, the realm vs realm, the idea of leveling up how you want , you can reach max tier through all pvp, all pve, or a mix. There are many positives for a game like this, I would beta test it first if I were you because you may pass on the game for you over one minor feature. Wouldn't want you to pass on something great.

lol, oh man I feel a nice, long, juicy thread coming along.

But no, there is no stealth in WAR, the reason being it wouldn't work in an RvR game. If you actually do some research you'll know why. I'm guessing you were a rogue in WoW? Big deal so was I, it's not the end of the world. I loved stealth, and ganking, but you know what, it pissed me off too. All those cowards popping 6 CD's just to get away from you. I'm glad there's no stealth, leaves more room for strategy.

Closest thing you'll et to a rogue in WAR is the Witch Elf. They have daggers, poisons, quick getaway's, and sneakiness.

I like the lore, rvr and pve might be good aswell, but i still wont play, atleast i think so. I am currently playing Lineage 2 and will keep doing so since this game is probebly to much not what i am looking for. Small things easilty turns players of, like stealth not bing in this game. I dont care about stealth and i will try the game but its to much.. like any other mmorpg at the market. AOC seems to have more of what i am looking for. WAR will probebly be a good game, just not what i and OP is looking for :P

I fear what the witch elf is going to have in her arsenal. After seeing the agile escape, Im glad theres no stealth. But if he enjoys playing a stealth character, if thats his style, don't knock it. I'm on your side though butters, I'm glad its out of this game.

I think stealth can work fine in RVR personally.  DAOC had plenty of stealth classes, and while they were difficult to balance and plenty of people whined, I dont think they imbalanced the gameplay anywhere near as much as some of the visible classes that Mythic later added.   Soloers love stealth classes for obvious reasons, and I think its a shame that they wont be putting any stealthers into WAR.  But maybe it just doesnt fit the lore, as stated earler.  Either way this isnt a make or break issue for me, personally.

Stealth sucks, I'm glad it won't be a part of WAR.

On the whole it reduces the quality of games imo.

Fair enough....

One of the big things that the developers of this game want characters to be able to do when going into a fight, is to identify their opponent before you engage in the fight. So, therefore stealth doesn't fit into their ideals for the game.

Also, there will be rogue-esque classes in the game (Witch Elf, and Witch Hunter namely) who have positional attacks. However, in this game they will take more skill to play, because you'll actually have to be crafty enough to sneak up on your opponent (using terrain and other such things to hide yourself).

As someone who played a rogue for 1.5+ years in wow, and have done a lot of end game stuff, I am really excited for this kind of a class. It will, to me at least, be a lot more fun than the traditional stealthers.

Wait, so... If they do stealth like every other game and its grandmother out there, then they are "innovative"

But if they go the road less travelled and remove "Invisibility spell" from nonmagicians, then they are NOT innovative?

I must have read the wrong dictionary.

Hate to inform you that stealth is the  carebear 4 star general. Why? Well carebears are generally people who don't want to fight unless the are ready or unless they can win. What ability does stealth give you? The ability to pick your fights, the ultimate carebear skill!

Sorry but people don't realize how powerful stealth is. If you did get stealth your dmg would be gimped. Then you would complain that your damage is awful without even considering the massive advantage stealth gives you. Thats what happened in DAoC so the are avoiding stealth classes completely. As well as the fact that they think stealth classes are cheap.

For everyone who lwon't play war because ti doesn't have stealthers there are people who will play it because it has no stealthers :) it's your choice of course to not play it if stealthers is the only class you play in mmos.

And blah, stealthers don't add any strategy, they add annoyance. Strategy would only be there if people actually had means to detect stealthers withotu dieing =p Then you add the stealth zergs, who kill soloers and small groups but unlike visible who do the same, stealth zergs don't die when a group from your realm runs by them. Once again adding annoyance and greatly reducing one's ability to enjoy solo pvp unless on a stealther.

Not to knock the OP, but from playing both mage and rogue in WOW I never truly felt stealth offered that much fun in that game's PVP. As a mage I knew that if I could get off a spell to break the rogue's stealth, he's likely dead. The flip side of course is I figured that once I was out of mana and had to fall back and regroup I was inevitably ganked and slaughtered. I had less experience with rogue but spending long minutes in stealth trying to set up the perfect attack was boring.

While it could be very fun in open world PVP, I personally found stealth to be limiting to both rogues and their "prey" classes on BGs. Depending on the situation, stealth either gave you the auto-win or didn't do much to save you.  WAR seems to be shaping up as far more of a tactical game, where squad tactics trump individuals off on their own hunter-seeker missions.

As far as Warhammer lore goes, yes there are assassins who can pop up in a certain unit but they can't wander the battlefield cloaked. When two regiments clash, the assassin reveals himself. BTW only 2 races have them so it would be a very limited role and give Chaos an unfair advantage as Order wouldn't have a comparable class.

It is your right not to play the game. I just think this is a weak excuse. I also think you are overstating the popularity of stealth classes. People tend to play stealth because they want to be in control of when they fight.

As to making sense... um... people typically disappear in front of you? Your argument makes no sense.

In the table top game assassins they typically hid in units so I would be ok if stealth was in where you had to have at least 10 - 20 visible people within 10 meters of you. This is not what you want though... you want to be invisible, go where you want without repercussions, and attack people when engaged or low health... sorry don't think this game is for you.
