There are only two raids in CoX.
For most of CoX's life there has only been one, Hamidon. Which is a large many on one huge boss raid. Issue 10 introduced Rikti mothership raids which is many on many with two stages,; taking down the shields and then attacking/bombing the ship.
I would not normally call the Rikti ship raids "raids" I only do so because you need a number of groups to do it.
It is not necessary to do either one. I do not ever plan on doing a Hami raid as I find many on one raiding to be the stupidest thing ever created in the history of computer gaming. I find the Rikti ship raids fun though.
Either way both take around an hour I think. Mmmm Rikti ship raids can be shorter maybe 30 minutes if there is a lot of action. |

Originally posted by JK-KanosiThe longest raid? well, if you count Task Forces as raids, there is some in the Shard zone that can take more than 8 hours, but no one does it much, except for the badge, because it sucks pretty bad, hehe. Hamidon was taken down in 20 some-odd minutes all the time back in the day, can't say now though, because with the invention system Hami-Os are junk now, well, not really. The Rikti ships stuff is great, good fun when you got 50-60 people on top of a hill fighting wave after wave of baddies. |

Stealing this thread for a short question. Is there any way to see server population on the the european servers. I have the game and have tried it out a year ago, but stopped due to the small number of teams and players. Maybe I played on the wrong server or at the wrong time (was around x-mas) |

1 exception: The first server on the top is not the most populated, but the last you visit on this account.
So...if you just want to join the most populated servers, pick the bottom one, then exit and pick the one at the top excluding the bottom one you just pick (which will be #1 since it was the last server visited). I am unsure if the order vary daily and according to the current players online or on some other way to calculate. - "If I understand you well, you are telling me until next time. Yes there are technically only two raids in the game: Hamidon and Rikti Mother Ship. However, the task/strike forces are "raid-like" in that they take at least a few hours commitment and once you start you can't stop, you can't do other missions and you can't buy from stores (cept Market). I have noticed since Issue 9 that the number of Hami raids has really dwindled. Simply put, the HO's are not the "uber" enhancements they used to be. Now the only reason to Hami Raid is to get a rare recipe. |

Don't know if the OP's still checking, but one pseudo-correction to what you guys are saying about TaskForces. They were designed specifically not to be done in one sitting. Now most people do, myself included, but it's definitely not a requirement. And in a long interview either Positron or Stateman gave last year, they explained that the idea was to make something for supergroups to do together over several nights. And again most people don't do them that way - I know I usually don't (with rare exceptions). But there are also many people who do, so it's an option. So don't think that just because a particular TF takes 3 or 6 or in one case 12 hours, that you'll never be able to do it unless you have that much time. Because you can. Also, to the OP: if you're asking about "raids" because you're used to a raid-driven life as in, say, WoW - toss that right out. It's a very different kind of game, there's hardly anything that could be considered "loot" and what constitutes it can be gotten from many places. So don't expect to have to join a raid group and commit to everything they do just to play and progress. Currently playing: |

Good point about loot Amarsir, raiding isn't "required" to do in order to progress your character. Before I9 came out my 50 scrapper didn't have a single HO, just 53 SO's across the board and he held up just fine vs the HO-equipped players. As for taskforces, I've rarely done one all in one sitting. That one being the Terra Volta respec taskforce. All the others I usually do over 2 nights. |
