I attempted to pre-order TR. So far I have been unable to do so since their website will not validate my visa or MC. Ok so I called their billing support. According to them I am coming up anonymous. Ok so fine I request they take my information over the phone which of course they are unwilling to do. I have purchased many items via the internet including preordering games. This is the first time I have attempted to use my CC with plaync.com.
The only issues on my end that I could forsee having any impact is I am behind a linksys router running windows vista using mcafee AV. Normally I would have posted this on their forums but since they don't seem to have the resources for that I come here. |

Where did you find their phone number? I've been searching the internet all day for it. they keep it well hidden. |

512.225.6359. Only way I was able to solve my problem was by going to best buy and buying the preorder for $10 |

I've had similar problems with other companys. It's very frustating when all you want to do is spend your money with a company and they don't seem to want to take it. It's even worse when they try and tell you its your problem. |

Originally posted by Ugottawantit If you do purchase the game, be prepared to be charged sales tax on your monthly fees. I've stopped playing all NCSoft games since they decided to start charging sales tax on the monthly subscription fees to residents of CA and TX. I live in CA and they were charging me near $18/month instead of the $14.99 advertised. Only once I called them n the "overcharges" did they direct me to a fairly well hidden explaination of they're tax charging. They don't tell you this upfront and it's not mentioned anywhere in the registration process for their games, so I figured I'd at least warn you to be prepared for it.

I've had similar issues with trying to buy things from EBgames.com. Unless your info is meticulously entered correctly as their database receives it, including any spaces or some such discrepancies that may change as its being stores an passed around, it will reject it, and after the 2nd try, lock you out for 24 hours -_-. I've called them twice trying to order something from there, and not once did I find a resolution.
But as far as taking your information over the phone, thats standard practice for places with good security measures. It's really a bad practice, and I only do so when absolutely needed. Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts. EAT ME MMORPG.com! |

Not all credit card validation companies are created equal. Some take shortcuts to reduce monthly service charges and sadly that comes with some repercussions. *not all banks are covered *not all card carriers are recognized *sometimes servers housing certain data will be down causing entire series or cards to not confirm (F*** you wells fargo -.-) etc etc
You can place part of the blame on NC Soft for potentially choosing a cheap Card verfication service. Ultimately you just have to realize that some sites and/or companies just can process your card. Way the world turns *shrug* |
