I was playing during the preview weekend and this game is something I absolutely would not pay money for. The graphics are horrible, the click to move was so outdated and the "press this button then this one then this one" directions were pathetic. Having you punch buttons and that's all is really just too simple, so if you're a kid that likes to smash buttons without any real skill to speak of, this is the game for you.
EDIT: By the way, the screen shots are NOT an accurate depiction of what you will see in the game world. The graphics are even less than sub par. |

Originally posted by Naidia Anything specific about the graphics you didn't like? The system specs you posted should let you play with reasonably high settings, in which case you should have been able to achieve visuals reasonably close to the screenshots we've released. Several beta testers have posted their own screenshots which closely approximate ours as well. Regardless, there's a new build we're preparing that contains significant visual upgrades and performance improvements, so you might want to wait until making a final judgement on the graphics. Have to ask about "click to move" ... since Fury doesn't use click to move. WASD (or keys as set by the player) is used, same as an FPS (though you need to hold down right mouse button to get full mouse look currently). We've heard a lot of testers comment on the "button masher" opinion you've expressed, and it's something we hope to improve. The early game experience doesn't appear to be revealing the real gameplay experience awaiting players who gain a few ranks. Based on tester feedback that opinion is one that gets discarded by testers who advance through the ranks, as they quickly discover that simply button mashing without thought results in getting beaten by skilled players who have explored the depth and variety of abilities available. _________________________ |

Originally posted by Naidia While I probably won't be playing Fury, to be honest this persons opinion is the minority from what I've seen. The graphics are not cutting edge but they are far from poor, my system is very similar to the OPs but a bit better graphics card. WASD movement is available, the comment about the ''so if you're a kid that likes to smash buttons without any real skill to speak of'' makes the OPs post seem like a worthless attempt at a troll. |

The performance is a great issue. People like the op (or me for that matter) log in and actually expect a decent performance with our rigs at reasonable settings. So when we log in we need to turn the graphics all the way down. The game then looks like diablo on steroids. I know Vanguard lost a lot of players because of such performance issues. Oh and no FSAA implementation (yet) doesn't make it better. I am not into this whole programming thingy. To me FSAA is the the one thing that I turn to at least 2x when I enter the graphic options in games. Even if I have to turn shadows, environment etc. aaaaall the way down. I just don't want games to look like starcraft anymore. But that is me. Probably there is a solid reason though why programmers often implement it at the last second before lunch. Another thing that wasn't there (yet) would be "mouse roll-over" explanations of stats. Mind me that is not a big issue, but to a newbie (like me) it can be a huge turn off because we have to actually google what some of the three letter abreviations mean (or yell and get some clown to give us a hoax answer). Basically I liked the gameplay though - although I didn't know what the heck I was doing. |

OP joined August 7, 2007. Why would someone make an account here just to bad mouth a game... Sounds like a bad experience that is out of Auran's hands. The "click to move" comments leads me to believe that they haven't even played the game.
I'm thinking blizzard dev trying to draw attention away from Fury.... |

I think that if you were involved in a serious clan vs clan vortex or elim that you would rue the day you ever said that there was no skill whatsover involved. |

I must disagree with the graphics sucking (although I didn't like the character customization) but thats not what makes a game, its all about the gameplay. The truth is that I'm disappointed, I didn't think the game would be all about hitting keys. Then again thats just my opinion, some may like this type of gameplay. |

Originally posted by NarrinaI didn't mean to say it was button mashing (guess I said it wrong in my previous post, need caffeine), and trust me I gave it a good chance. For one I am not interested in any games where you press a key to use a skill for I've played way too many of those and its getting old. I was hoping this game would maybe bring something different to the table but it didn't, for myself the game had nothing to make me want to play it. I'm half-asleep so if none of it makes sense, disregard. |

mm i dunno. i'm running an old system. 7800 gt. so the graphics were shit for me obviously. but the gameplay reminded me of wow. in the bg's. maybe cause i was a beginner. Age of conan is appealing to me the most just because of its "real combat" system. that to me would make a good pvp game. and it would be like FPS but MMO style die |

the game is great, gameplay, graphics, EVERYTHING. it's everything pvpers want, not pve "carebears" lol. if you signed up for another WoW copy, wrong place. fury breaks the mould, for those who like fps AND mmorpgs, a mix of the both. the aspects it takes from fps are entering an arena and kiking ass, and super fast pace WITH tactics. the guy who started the thread, just joined to draw ALL the ATTENTION that fury is getting over WoW. why else would make up a bunch of lies -"click to move" and have only made to posts overall, both this thread. and i only joined to post on this ridiculous thread, but ive been on the site for sometime. |

Wow, this is an amazing thread - is it 2 or 3 new people to the MMORPG forums all with the same opinion which does not seem to match anything to do with the game. Perhaps an MMORPG admin would care to check some IP addresses and who wants to bet once these new people get the right number of posts that there are a lot '1' hype meter posting :( Why do people want to do this stuff - do they think every other gamer here is stupid - damn, give players some credit. I'm not sure where you got the idea about click to move, it's traditional WASD movement like most MMORPG's and FPS's.
The gameplay probably reminds you of WoW because nearly every MMORPG's basic combat system is the same for years now(WoW is in fact an imitator like all the rest). AoC is a good step in the right direction with their 5pt combat system and no targeting melee but looking at videos so far it's a long way from really being a "real combat" system. For a game that's supposed to be highly competitive like fury($1,000,000 fury challenge coming!) sticking to the basics often ends up better.
Well you said you liked the AoC system as well, you still have to click buttons to do actions, in fact you have to click MORE buttons(combo starter, then each combo in the chain). It could very well be more interesting, I certainly find it something to watch at the least, but saying you don't like to push buttons then claiming an AoC like system would be ideal is rather intriguing.
