I am not bored with MMORPGs.  I enjoy the ones I currently play (Vanguard, EQ 1, EQ 2, SWG). 

Nevertheless, I sometimes need a break and play a (free) FPS.  It is called F.E.A.R.  Edit:  Plenty of players.  Plenty of maps.  Plenty of weapons from guns to bombs.  Customizable content.  The works.  I just started playing myself and really enjoy it.  Again, it is completely and totally free.

Yea. F.E.A.R combat is a great free multiplayer FPS. You would get quite a bit of lagg on a 1gb computer but otherwise, brilliant free game. You should try it out.

So does that link get you all the multiplayer maps and everything? Or do you still have to buy the game to get all the extra maps?

I downloaded that about a week ago, and there was not one server available. No players at all, so i looked up the patches, and found nothing. I also I tried savage, and just never got into it...maybe it's good idk..never really tried. Maybe i'll try it again..who knows.

*1*  You are not required to buy the game. It is completely free to play online with all the maps.

*2*  Hundreds are probably on right now. I am going to log in after I briefly browse this web page a bit.  You probably made the same mistake I did (several times).  You must click "Find Servers" for all the servers to appear to join a game.  Edit:  There are hundreds of games being hosted by players.

 *3* I have 2 gigs of ram and have yet to experience lag.  I never had it once yet.

It is a lot of fun.  It is not cheap or anything like that but a good FPS that is free.
