I would like to know what the in game currency would be. since the game should go over several galaxies what would be something wanted by the asgard and some simple people on a random planet.

I would say no currency.  Earn/gain items through doing missions and leveling up your toon.  Similar to how you gain new items in Planetside.  I don't see a purpose for currency.

I do belive the currency that will be used in game is Naqadria  .. although trading will be used as well .. last I have heard of how currency will be used though was I think late last year .. although chances are they are keeping it unless if the devs say otherwise.. which I would doubt that they would change it

I'm very interesting in this as well, with all the different galaxies and planets... it'll be hard for them to choose I bet, unless they do something like use one type of currency no matter what anyone says.

I would be very interesting on how trading items as a currency would work, I mean they would have to create a lot more items then most MMO's. In my opinion anyway...

The most correct should be Naquadah, as Tau'ri, Goa'uld and most other civilizations need/use it. Another possibility is trade: Medical supplies for a piece of weaponry or armor?

I do like the idea of no currency, but i dont see how they could make it work if the entire game would work from trade goods.  also i think it would be far to time consuming to find what you want to get then find something of equal value. I would like to see it but for a stable economy a form of currency is a must. I just have no idea what that might be.

I think it could work but when you first start off, your character is given the necessary items to survive the first few quests and while on the quests you can gain items that have no real value but can be used for trading. Like... "You loot a body and you find a container with outdated weaponry, even though you have no use for it you can trade it to the less advanced civilization for things you'll really need like medical supply's."

That's just how I think it could work, anyway.

Trading Naquadah or any other items wouldn't fit in with the story for individuals working for SGC.  These items are turned over to SGC.  Even for the other races, these kind of items are usually controlled by the races government.  Possibly, individuals will gain access to new items that they have recovered from previous missions.  Of course, I still believe doing this the way Planetside does would work just fine.  Personally I don't see a need for currency.  The SGC should provide everything needed. 

We are absolutely going to have currency in the game :)

What if you don't work to the SGC? Ive seen Jaffas and other humans using currency. Most Goa'ulds have their pockets full of money. Remember that tau'ri is not the only race you can chose, and the air force has a pay role.

Not to worry, there will be a universal currency inside the game :)
