Im bored and need some views on what your playing so I might try them. I came onto the scene in 2000 and got settled into a few games but the past year Ive been bouncing around and never been able to settle. Long term games: Neocron - Loved this but the population dropped and killed it for me, bugs aside its still a great concept of a game. Planetside - Still play this but its not exactly immersive obviously, more like a log in for an hour periodically game for me. Eve - Still play this for the community side but its very dull most of the time and its a seriously big time sink of a game. Games Ive bounced off but never got into: COH - EQ 1 & 2 - FOM - Guildwars - LOTR - SWG - RF online - So what do you consider your fav mmo and why? herb...herb is a plant |

The title describes the mmorpg game situation right now perfectly. Try Vanguard. Then add a dose of Matrix Online, a pinch of D&D Online and you'll be ready to retire from mmo gaming forever. |

Currently Im playing EQ2. I play it as a casual gamer and its being fun, Im right now a Templar 54 and I really like mentoring to low level peeps but is a fact, EQ2 is not for a hard gamer, its suited for casual gamers. If you want a hard game you can try Lineage 2. But be aware you will find tons of bots and ebayers. So, yeah, if you dont like this games, there no games for you right now. I really think mmorpgs are lacking something these days. -=AlaKraM=- |

I think by looking at the amount of traffic on the general MMO boards (just look at the frequency of posts here on the PUB) that it's safe to say a lot of people are in MMO limbo mode waiting for games in the coming months like TR, AOC, and obviously WAR being the big one. All the current MMO offerings just seem tired out. What do we have recently? Vanguard and Lotro? Well, there's not much to say about Vanguard as that game lost it's population maybe faster than SWG's NGE, and Lotro, well, guess that's a love it or hate it deal. I'm not into Lotro. ----------------------------------------- |

Originally posted by Baseline Lotro is ok....but it's not special..It's what I'm playing at the moment, but if I played it a lot, rather than the casual couple of hours a night with some days off then I would probably have got very bored of it by now.. In the future...well AOC and WAR are the big ones, then TR, GnH CoS I suppose...but is there anything truely new in them,,,,time will tell... |

I've gone off MMOs now due to the companies either showing bad business practice that effects gameplay, or just producing the same run of the mill turds since EQ1. If I play online I'll probably be in BF: 2142, it tends to beat killing 300 unicorns solo inorder to earn Gandalfs G-string of doom. It's just the direction games studios are going in, they're pretty much following the money and the money (funding and subs) is in lame fantasy hack and slash.

Honestly buddy, I would get old school.
Dig up a copy of Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, or Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2.
These are old school, true RPG-dungeon romps. If you dedicate enough patience to them they'll keep you busy for months. __________________________________________________________________________________ |

I suggest you play Warcraft 3 or something for a few months until something new is released that tickles your fancy. You COULD try Archlord, but its a big grind. The PvP is good though. Episode 2 is coming out soon aswell for free so you could level up and start castle seiges. IMO its heading in the direction of Lineage II but free. Anyway, you could always get into a new hobby. I'm currently learning how to play the guitar until WAR is released ----------------------------------------- |

It's ok, they don't want a lot of us. We should protest. It always depresses me to read all the posts that are like "oh ya, i'm in beta, but i don't really play it, i'm on vacation, i don't want the beta key...etc" :( |

If only Tabula Rasa had an open beta ;P I applied for closed beta a while back, still no answer >_< it'd be nice to kill the MMORPG burnout-boredom. If only october came faster ~_~ |
