  My bet is whenever the game goes live and this guild actually does get resource about a hundred of its members try and steal it blind and defect. (at least 50 other members will stay and pretend to help the guild but will actually be spies for other guilds.)  Of the remaining players they will probably soon polarize and find that they can't work together with different views causing the guild to probably fracture into 2-3 smaller guilds

 While I don't think AoC will be cancilled I do find it funny a guild of 400 some members have formed for a game that won't be out for another year. these players haven't even played the game so have no real idea if they will even like it. Most of us have been following the development for a long time, we are all attracted to the game for similar reasons. Unless something hugely disappointing concerning the gameplay occurs, any loss to this will be minimal. Of course, any such scenario is likely to make the game fail, rendering the whole discussion pointless. They haven't played together so don't even know if they will be able to get along. Yes and no, many of us have played with other Acolytes in other games, mainly through groups that joined together over the forums. Our application process should most certainly reduce any inclined to such actions to the minimum, and the methods we're discussing for resource controll will reduce meaningful and successful attempts to 0. While I won't deny that some of the less ethical guilds will inevitably try this, there is no point whatsoever for spies to be planted at this point. The other guilds involved can't even be certain that they will be on even the same kind of server as us. Of the remaining players they will probably soon polarize and find that they can't work together with different views causing the guild to probably fracture into 2-3 smaller guilds As mentioned, we rub up against each other plenty on the forums, nearly all kinks between the older members have long since been worn smooth, and the newer ones are going in the same direction with few exceptions as well.

Actually, I'm surprised you haven't mentioned attrition through time. Its the one real factor that is bound to have THE most affect on our membership. A number of our registered members are simply bound to not be active when launch rolls around. Reasons will vary from choosing to play a different game, to changes in real life situations, to simply changing their mind/forgetting about about staying with the guild. It is rather difficult to predict the numbers lost this way, but I'd personally be shocked if we didn't lose more than 25% or so before all is said and done.

Still leaves us with a good amount of players. Also, it is quality of players, not quantity. We will be fine.

Quality is something we don't lack as far as i've seen. There is more wealth of experience in the genre in this guild than I've seen in any other I've been in. The best thing I find is the refreshing conversations =)

I think acoyltes look like easily the best aoc guild. (couldn't see your thread on the official forums). but the whole pking people for reasons i don't understand this?

what reason would you pvp vs someone (PK) other than that they are not on your team? care to elaborate o this idea. i also think it contracts with the whole playing the game true to REH's vision since it doesn't sound very brutal to me.

sounds like if i join i won't be allowed to pvp (crazy since you pick a pvp server). we just wait until somebody gets offended then get them. sounds real dull tbh. why is pking wrong its what pvp means, its what the game is about killing people. might aswell ban weapons aswell

RPvP, and we believe in killing with honour.  Im sure lots of us may kill a few people for no reason when having a cranky day, but we say this for the most part so members understand where our guild stands....we want to be known as a fun..crazy guild that arent a bunch of A holes.  Now im not a high up member but im pretty sure the rules go ask we dont allow griefing and corpse camping so i think within the guild noone will care if ya just kill a guy, but if u keep doing it non-stop for no good reason other then to ruin the other guys life then thats what we dont accept.
