That depends, which SWG are you referring to? Pre-CU-SWG, CU-SWG, or WoW-SWG? Ok, in all seriousness now, I don't think anyone really knows yet. The game is still in pre-preduction and is subject to change. Many of the features are still being worked out, but I recommend checking out the Stargate Worlds site for more info... Oh, and for the record I hope it's nothing like WoW. Hopefully it will be innovative and more towards sandbox gameplay.

Sandbox is an untapped void of the MMO world and is starting to become a huge popularity with the crowds. Even since its dawn into the gaming MMO world.. it wasn't usually the most popular as it required thought and smarts to play.. but generally-speaking.. sandbox MMOs make the greatest impact on the gaming world.. Alot of companies are beginning to realize the potential for sandbox MMOs.. and so thus.. the next phase of the game MMO world won't be fantasy or sci-fi.. or War-style combat gameplay.. but the suit of sandbox.. regardless of the Genre. Everquest - 2000 - '02 Anarchy Online - '01-'02 Earth and Beyond - '02-'04 Star Wars Galaxies - '03-'06('07) World of Warcraft - '04-'07 Age of Conan - '08 - shelved. -Waiting on- Star Trek Online SW: The Old Republic

At the moment its not in pre production but actually production, although since its early in pre production we still do not know if it is or if it is not going to be a sand box game or a game like WoW .. although I personally think it will be a little of both but things do change, hope you will like what the Devs. decide when they choose what they will do with the game play :)
