* Great mature content, fatalities, etc
* Not class based... all characters have access to the same special moves
* No Raids... parties are capped at 4 members
* Lots of opponents
* Good pacing, non-twitch play, no jumping
* Team based play, forced party-forming
* Ranked and unranked servers
* The ability to choose different characters to play... choose Gus Cole, Marcus Fenix, Dom, Baird, Theron Guards, General RAAM, and more!
* Built in version of Teamspeak... Xbox Live headsets.

The downside:
* Not many characters options.
* When your hear other people, some are annoying.
* Only 8 people are allowed in an instance.
* Host vs non-Host lag

So yeah, Gears of War is the best PVP MMO out there. Some will not call it an MMO, but I present the notion that hundreds of thousands of players are online at the same time. /flame on!

Ok, yeah but if you go by those standards than every multiplayer game is an MMO.

The criteria for a game to be an MMO is for a MASSIVE amount of players (MULTIPLAYER) have to be on the same, usually centrally hosted, server which contains a central world that everyone plays in.

I was wondering if anybody would understand what I was saying. I guess the answer is no.

The nature of the original post is satire. I knew it would not be taken seriously. In fact, I even commented that it WILL be flamed. Take a look again if you missed it.

My point however is that Bartle test killer types are often misjudged. WOW is a good example of a failure to support the killer archetype. They do not take into account the boss-fighting and PVE aspects of killers, or the segment of the killer population that looks to access dynamic content. This, to me, is a huge shortcoming of almost all MMOs ain the current generation of MMOs.

If all killers wanted was to murder others in PVP all day and night, Gears of War would, for all intents and purposes, be the ultimate killer game.

FYI ,rainbow 6: vegas and/or lost planet are the best for PVP on the xbox 360

  WoW is a good example of non MMO PvP system. If players only wanted a balanced, instanced PvP then you may as well be playing GoW, BF2, etc. If I wanted a good capture the flag game with a lot more map options I would play Unreal Tournament since it is much better than WoW capture the flag crap. Seriously, WTF does capture the flag have to do with MMO PvP? WoW PvP is the biggest cop out PvP system ever invented for an MMO. Its just an addition to their theme park game world to keep the time sinks deeper. Strangely, it works. Hard to believe people who know what MMO truely is would pay to play WoW for their PvP . 

  For a PvP system to be considered MMO it needs to be a system where PvP objectives affect the whole gaming world whether it be capturing both NPC and PC forts, towns, cities, resource nodes, etc. Some games coming that have that type of PvP that I want to try is POTBS , WAR, and AoC.  Hopefully those games will spark interest in what PvP in MMO should be.  Other good examples of PvP in MMO would be Eve and RvR games.

this post was useless and pointless. the massively multiplayer part means they are playing with each other together on a persistant world.  in gears of war you are only playing with 8 people at a time with the map resetting after each round or whatever.

but yea gears of war is pretty cool.
