SOE did not buy us.  We signed a contract with them to do publishing, distribution, and billing.  Our salaries are still being paid by the same people who have always paid them.

Now the difference is we gotta wait what 4 or 5 months like we did for Vanguard for you to fire your devs in a parking lot and sell out to SOE publicly? B/c lets face it thats all this is , is a hidden sellout to SOE. Keep saying you did not sell out , you may keep a few people palying your game. but guess what, after all the years of playing MMOs and SOE track record, didn't you think about this...maybe you shoulda had a more reputable company  logo branded on your product?

I think this thread has really gone about as far as it can go.  We've layed out the facts of the deal in our initial posts, we've explained what we did and why, we've answered your questions as honestly as we can, and yet everything we say that you don't agree with has been branded as lies.  I'm sorry if Brad McQuaid left a bad taste in your mouth.  But I'm not sure that means you can never believe anyone ever again.  I'm not Brad McQuaid.  Rusty isn't either.  If you choose not to believe us, that's your perogative.  But calling us liars without a shred of evidence is hardly productive discourse.  Can we get back to talking about the game now?

yea sure lets talk about SOE's game all you want. basically it is the same scenario that happened with vanguard and you will not admit to selling out until months down the road when you all make it public...

why wait  napo you ask?

well because if they brandish this form the start as  SOE's game, which it is, and not FLS game.. then the number of people purchasing subs for this will go down more than it already has.

why do you think SOE has a bad track record and no one cares for them, and why would you join up with them? b/c or marketing? hell I know plenty of other companies that are good at marketing...

stupidest move you all coudla made and I am glad to see this mmo burn with the rest. another failed mmo. Hope you enjoy your losses because god if I don't just love the taste of your defeat.

I was planning to try Pirates of the Burning Sea - game seemed to be interesting with relatively open economy and gameplay... But I will definately not pay for SOE anymore. 

For me it really doesn't matter is SOE controlling game development or not. Only what matters is SOE getting money from this deal or not.

I am deeply concerned but I must admit I like what sony did with EQ2. I admit i am a nub in regards to Sony tho. I only really messed around with EQ series and thought it was 'okay' how they handled it

I heard about SWG and what they did was horrid the gamers they burned deserve to probably always distrust Sony.

but PoTBS is cutting edge and only breath of fresh air. I hate this scandal will turn away many now. Was no drama at all with this but now there will be if things dont go right. then i will learn to hate Sony too if they screw this one up. cause im seriously thinking to preorder this one. its best looking title too me. even though PVP seems instanced somewhat

The sad thing is that I believe he will be here posting his "I told you so" post and dancing on your game's casket 6 months after it launches... and it won't really be Sony's fault.  The market just isn't friendly to mediocre, low-budget titles.  It's a bummer, but it's true.  One thing's for sure, your CS skills are consistent with what I would expect from your newfound publishing partner.  You guys should get along just fine.  As for this guy, maybe you should tell him to speak with his feet.... like all those former SWG players did.
