The intro vid shows a good old spikey haired nutbag dwarf trollslayer going at it with a big dorc.
but.. Dwarves dont have trollslayers as a class. Which seems like a wasted oppurtunity. Because I'd expect that to be the FIRST class they thought of for dwarves. I guess theyre just TOO damn hard to create ;) Or they'll be a future class. or something. My virtual sword of ultimate death and rending is better than *your* virtual sword of ultimate death and rending, because *mine* goes with my armour, okay? |

I agree with you. You know what my honest opinion is... Ok I think they might be trying something a little different. (Maybe just hoping) Ok say the Orks take over dwarf cities and stuff. How do we get them back. Do they just port out and our city respawns? Sounds kinda odd that... What I think ( I know little of Warhammer lore) There is a hidden dwarf city somewhere with some bad asses inside and the gates closed. I remember reading somewhere. I believe they will come out upon hearing the king was captured. Push the invaders out all the way back. Get the king. Bring him home and then the scenario will start over again. Same for other races but maybe handled in a different way. Maybe a bunch of mage type dudes will spawn for order and Rebuild the city summon the king back and descimate the invaders after a while. Maybe to get them to come the order have to do something first though. Who knows. But if that were the case i think it would make for a great idea.

The cities will be reset after a certain amount of time has passed if I remember right.

Ok, first, it's Dwarfs. Not Dwarves.
Second: Slayers certainly were an Idea, but think about it. Slayers are basically Heroes, they beat entire armies. They basically want to die, they won't ever run away from an enemy, no matter how bad the odds of surviving are. Basically, making Slayers player characters would be breaking the lore, because Players flee from enemies, Players hide somewhere. Slayers don't do that. Remember that GW must approve everything that is added to the game, maybe they decided that Slayers are too rare and special to be played as normal Chars. (Also, who'd choose a stupid Ironbreaker, if he can also be a cool, dual axe swinging Dwarf Barbarian with an Orange Mohawk?) Third: The (capitol-) cities and sieges: When one Realm manages to invade a Capitol City, they basically gain control over it, can slaughter, rampage, destroy at their hearts desire. Everywhere, except a small square of land, where the Travel NPC, the Bank, a Merchant and the Spawn Points for the Defenders is. THere won't spawn NPCs who drive the Invaders out of the city. Instead, the Defending Players are buffed with a "Heart of the Survivor"-Sortof buff, basically, they become stronger overall. This Buff becomes stronger and stronger the longer the Invaders hold the city. So after a very long time, one single Defender would become insanely strong and would be able to one-shot-kill all invaders, thus retaking the city. Players have to take initiative to retake their city. As soon as the Defenders managed to retake their City, the Battlefield resets, control of zones is set to neutral again, the conflict begins anew, the Defender Buff obviously vanishes then. |

How's the third one relate to the topic again?

Why no Slayers? Because EVERYONE would play as one.

And there are many ranks and sudivisions of slayers from troll slayer upwards. Though I accept the fact that they are double hard. In reply I can only say that I tried to factor this into my thinking. Chaos Marauders are double hard as well and seem to get ridiculous (as ever) abilites that I just dont see a dwarf hammerer on a par with, Though I realise you could argue the case on a damage basis. I think given Slayers life expectancy, You could show the opposite. Plus I suppose it does leave a very credible advancement and prestige class explansion.
