I play City of Heroes and i pay the monthly $15. This game is so much fun it is worth every penny. THe game environment is great, everyone has a positive attitude and if the game was free there would be those people that come in and just spam random stuff ruining the game for everyone else

The veteran's rewards been just implemented, I would say that if the game turn free soon, it would display a complete lack of following.

They don't even have to make City of Heroes free, they could just make it cheaper like, maybe, $9.99/month or something like that. That would help me a lot, I already have World of Warcraft and that'll cost me some. Although, I plan on getting a job in August.

to put my spin on this...after i quit WoW in August of 2006 I trolled EVERY F2P sight on the web donwloading, trying them out, even playing a select few for awhile. LET me say this no F2P game will ever match the hook ( content) that a p2P game does. Eventually the support, staff, funds arent there. Trust me when I say that F2P games will never = what P2P games are.

Heck, they could make it like Runescape! F2P normally, but if you want the really good powers, costume choices, etc., you have to pay per month to play! That would be good too!

If the game was free it would honestly suck.
They wouldn't get the money that they do to upgrade and make the game fun for us. 15 dollars really is not much to pay a month. I think it's worth every penny and the game should never be free. |

Yes, lets make it free. I for one am tired of the free expeansions every few months. And, the access to 2 different worlds/games for one price. Oh, and the excellent graphics and artwork they have put into it, I really hate that. Please make it free and cruddy so I can stop playing.

Lol people forget why there is a price on MMO's... its for content... Free CoH = No reason to add content and theyll lose customers, money, and then the people that do play will be playing CoV...
Really free MMOs are crap. Thats why they are free, because they arne't good enough to generate money. You want a free orpg (close as a MMO your gonna get) go buy guild wars cheap bastard Darkfall for now. Quit bashing games YOU don't like! Including WoW, you know you liked it before you got burned out.

There is a reason CoH cost 15 bucks while other MMOs are free. CoH lets you build a truly unique hero with a good selection of powers. The in-game community is usually good, I've had great customer service and there is content (although i do agree it gets shallow at time) A free MMO usually lacks all of these things. Honestly you are in the minority if you cannot afford the $15 a month. Either that or *someone* isn't letting you use their credit card.

CoX gets approximately 3 free content issues per year in lieu of paid expansions -- Those who pay it see the value so the subscription fee won't be changing anytime soon. Re-subscribing to City of Heroes? Get a bonus FREE 500 Points for the Paragon Market (a $6.25 value) using codes found in this thread here. --------------------- |
