I quit!!! I'm tired of driving a tank 50 miles to be sapped by farking sappers because noone ever supports thier assets.. same goes with ATGs EI dominate them and noone every supports them on the field and SEROUSLY I doubt any ATG crew went onto the field without a side-arm.
On a side note, there was a post dissing WWII games one page past this that I wasen't able to reply to and I had a great speach made up as a reply ... but I coulen't past to it ...... LOLOLOL Are you F*&^ing kidding me?? WWII forgotten??!!! WWII was the LAST THE last truly GREAT war. From the weapons to the tactics, WWII was one of the great wars of all time, each side knew EXACTLY what they were fighting for and proud to be a part of the cause. Romantic dogfights with propeller driven aircrafts as seen in WWII will NEVER be seen again. MILLIONS of people from both side died for what they knew to be right, turn the page to today's time and GAHSP The media is ruining warfare. Never again will a war occur where GREAT generals GREAT pilots GREAT sailors and GREAT soldiers will truly be able to shine for their heroism and valor. |

actually i dont think that it was a GREAT war, but i think it was a war that atually had purpose (on america's side) yet again we didnt exactly go in for the right reasons, we didnt go in because the french and brit's were getting owned, or that the jews were getting massacred (which we didnt find out till the end of the german campaign) we went in because they blew up one of our civilian ships (which was suspected and just recently found to be harboring ammunition to the enemies of the germans IE Russia France and Brit). Although in the end we accomplished something that HAD to be done i again dont think we went in for the right reasons, but still glad we did.

Not sure where you got that from, from my understanding is we cut the oil and steel supplies from the Japanese, so the Japanese feeling that we would enter the war sooner or later anyhow felt it was in their best interest to attack our navel fleet at Pearl Harbor and destroy it so that we would be crippled. After the attack, we got the "Day Of Infamy" speech, and the declaration of war.
After the Japanese attack , a high ranking Japanese official was quoted as saying " I believe we have awoken a sleeping giant" The incident your referring to with the ammo ship, may be confused with the Vietnam war when we were fired upon from the Cong, and we there after entered the Vietnam war. Edited to add Lets not forget that the Chinese also suffered a holocaust as well. The Japanese Murdered over a million Chinese in a genocide cleansing as the Germans did with the Jews. |

I'm just saying, WWII was the last widely supported war of the average citizen due to the fact that they believed that what their county's activities in conflict were the right thing to do. The last war where the majority of 18-30 year old citizens of the US were MORE than glad to serve their country ( even one 12 year old Navy boy ). I am big into military history, and WWII has to be my favorite conflict to learn about; from the battles to the war machines used, it is all so fascinating to me.

No the germans sunk an ammo ship with a U-boat. I dont remember the cong having submarines (although have been wrong in the past) so couldnt really agree with ya. Also it was found in the mediterrainean (gah spell check) so im nto sure how it would be in the vietcong.
Also i heard that it was Awoke a sleeping dragon (tora tora tora) but then again i got in an arguement with some friends and did some research but its not quite EXACTLY sure what the jap. general said except it was along those lines. oh how right he was. But yes i dont think we wouldve went to war with japan if it wasnt for pearl harbor, but im not living in those times and not sure what exactly was the political status im just sure of why we went to war with the nazi party otherwise we wouldve just kept feeding our allies more weapons and stuff (main reason for us getting out of the great depression). Although im glad we did enter the war and kick some major a$$. And i agree WWII was the last widely supported war. And in the end great things were accomplished |

Pearl harbor started our war with Japan. The German U-boat sinking A civilian ship filled with americans and a few others started our war with germany (later it was found that ship was carrying ammunition to our allys). And since Germany already took over much of the european states we helped them first. PLease now, read up on it. JAPAN bombed us, not the nazi's. So it wasnt the japanese who started our fight with the germans, and remember we didnt know about the death camps till toward the 3rd part of WWII so dont even try bringing that up.

The pacific war is quiete interesting and has something to do with imperialism and colonies as well expansion of japan, at the beginning of the 20. century and at this time the majority of the pacific area and southeastasia was in western hands i.e. Indochine: Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam (FR), East-India/Indonesia (Netherlands), Malaysia (GB), Philippines (USA), Hawaii (USA), Polynesia (FR), Samoa (US) and more.... After ww1, Japan got the former german areas: Marshall Islands, Mariane Islands, Karolin Islands and Chinese Tsingtao. China and Japan were the only 2 powerfull countries in this area. The main point of japans expansion, was to end the western influence and the establishment of japans control and influence instead ( Panasiatism = Asia for Asians). WW2 already started actually 1937 with the china-japan conflict. Since japan had troubles to get basic materials for their industry and western countries in this area suppressed the deliveries, japan was forced to attack them since they didnt want to stop their expansion. Originally posted by KOrnfan4evr Firstly - no country in the world declared war on the Nazi Party. Nor did the Nazi party declare war on anyone. It was Germany. Neutrality was the official American response to the outbreak of war in Europe in 1939. Congress approved immense sums for rearmament and in early 1941 passed the Lend-Lease Program, which enabled President Roosevelt to transfer arms and equipment to any nation (notably Great Britain, the Soviet Union and China) deemed vital to the defense of the United States. The United States entered the War for their own reasons - one was the 'decolinization' of the British empire. Its also important to realise that the UK virtually funded the US war (Money from its empire), thereby boosting the US economy. At the same time. After the War, the UK was bankrupt, the US having dealt as much a blow as Germany. Had WWII not taken place, Britain would be a lot more powerfull today (economically anyway). Some of the great America vehicles (The Thunderbolt is an example - the UK contracted US companies to develop a new plane because british engineers kept thinking on a certain level. A new design was needed, and the UK turned to the US for a new design team. When the first shipments arrived in the UK, the British designers removed the american engines and replaced them with rolls royce engines) were funded with british money directly. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese bombed the U.S. Pacific fleet at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. On December 8, Congress declared a state of war with Japan; three days later its allies, Germany and Italy, declared war on the United States. The western Allies decided that their essential military effort was to be concentrated in Europe. As a result of Germany’s strong land forces, however, Great Britain and the United States postponed a cross-channel attack until June 1944. On D-Day, June 6, 1944, Allied forces landed in Normandy. On August 25, Paris was liberated. By February (May be wrong here, but I believe this is when the US found the first concentration camp - though rumours had been heard from Russian Forces - but kept to the Government and High Command.) and March 1945, troops advanced into Germany and on May 7/8, Germany surrendered. |

Jesus, you people need to go read some history. Its only the single most documented conflict in the history of mankind, absolutly no reason to not speak with well informed authority. (refering to to first 5 or 6 posts)
Go read. -Gooney |

To actually respond to the main part of the post, are you trying to solo it? When I first played that is how I would do it, and it almost seemed inevitable that I would be out in the middle of nowhere, but a sapper popped out of a bush and blew me up and I wouldn't even see him.
Then I joined a squad, and things got so much better. I could drive a tank somewhere and feel safe because I knew there were at least 3 other guys watching my back. I could be an inf knowing I had armor support. And more recently I found (forgive me if this is a year old or something, i just started playing after the last free trial.) they have a feature where you can spot things on people's maps. Maybe you're not in a squad, maybe you're in a bad one, maybe you've had a run of bad luck. If it's something that has happened to you as long as you have played, I'd consider playing differently or quitting, if it's only been recent, it's probably just a run of bad luck. |
