Hi,

I've been venturing out into .4 space lately to try my hand at salvaging some higher level rats. I've been doing okay. I've had my share of success and my share of getting my spaceship blown to bits...

...my question is - what is the best way to counter getting warp scrambled? Is it by fitting warp stabilizers? If so - should you fit more than one on a ship? Is this helpful? or should you just train up the warp drive operation skill in addition to fitting warp stablizers?

For right now I just simply want to bail if I get attacked out there. I've tried to fight once or twice but I just don't have what it takes right now to fight back. I just want to bail like a sissy and keep my loot (if i can)...

Thanks in advance!

Atleast 2 warpcore stabs and mwd.  If you are salvaging then you should be in a destroyer.  Put on a mwd II and a couple stabs and you will be hard to get ahold of.

Micro Warp Drive, its better than a Afterburner

That said you should mount at least 2 preferably 3 warp stabs to allow your self to warp out, as the short range warp jammer hits you with a -2 warp strength.

Like others said, multiple warp core stabs will solve your problem.

The other advice I can offer is don't get caught on in the first place.  Keep your eyes on the local, if you spend your time in system long enough you will realize that aside from people who are just passing though 90% of the time there are the same people in the system, and you are being killed by the same people as well. So just by looking though local you should be able to figure is it safe or not.

Another tip is, never rat in most top and most bottom belts. If pirates come into the system those are the first belts they will check, if they are intersted in killing you.

Remember, the more aware you are of your surroundings you higher chance you have to survive.

Hope this helps!

Just to add something to the above, only fit warp stabbers if you intend to run without fighting back. Warp stabbers now completely nerf your targetting, so if you have them fitted run without trying to lock and fight, because you would be at a severe disadvantage if you do. Stabbers also mean that it would make ratting a bit more annoying and slower for you, so what I would do is make sure that you have an MWD fitted, keep your eye on local and run and hide if someone jumps in, instead of fitting a WCS.

Thanks everyone! Great advice. Gonna try some of it right after the patch. And yes...I intend to run like a wussy for right now to just kind of get an idea of how things go in lower sec space. I haven't hooked up with a corp yet so I want to take things slow and just get the feel for things. Ratting in .4 space right now is worth it just for the loot, at my level. I can handle the rats okay - it's just the pirates that tend to make me cry lately...

Thanks again!

Damn those warp scrambling NPC's.

Dont forget that your mwd doesnt work in deadspace, which almost ever mission is in.

How can you avoid the warp scramble death without wasting valuable low slot area and getting nerfed by using warp stabilizers?

Is the only way to kill off the frigates first? What if that's not possible and your swarmed?

Is there a website that has easy access to missions and npc's where warp scramble is listed?

This website has a nice NPC listing and which ones warp scramble and their strength, but again, not every NPC is listed http://www.onlinegamecommands.com/eveonline/eveonlinepiratenpclisting.htm

If anyone knows a better website for this topic, please add it.

Warp Stabalisers is one way to do it but fit more than 2 as Players usually have acces to warp scams with a strength of 2 and as they fly in teams.....

Or fit a afterburners and some nanofibres to bring up your top speed so you can fly out of range fast.

Or fit a Micro Warp drive and run and hope you get out of range before yur capacitors run out of power.

Or just watch local for trouble and check the map for clues of a system before you jump in [in fact learning how to use all the option in the galactic map is a very usefull skill not just for avoiding trouble.

How can you avoid the warp scramble death without wasting valuable low slot area and getting nerfed by using warp stabilizers?Best suggestion is to learn the warp scramblers in your region mission(help on that later below) kill them first, If you in a big ship make sure you pack Medium or Small drones, not larges, unless your in a Domi

Is the only way to kill off the frigates first? What if that's not possible and your swarmed?Generally you should be able to easily tank a mission if your doing it, Suggest you overpower a mission at first till you get used to it that means take a BC into lvl 2s, Battleship into lvl 3s. and don't run lvl 4s solo. Once you start learn the missions the triggers for the additional spawns you can prevent the danager of being swarmed so you have time for you to work on the scramblers.

Is there a website that has easy access to missions and npc's where warp scramble is listed?www.eveinfo.com one of the better resource sites, some of the missions listings are outdated, but all of the NPC ship data is updated and correct.

I tried El Farto's site but it just plain sucks even though he has the warp scramble search option? You enter the name of a npc as it's called and it cant even find the match.......

Best suggestion I can give you is to over power missions for a bit, when you do that you can start to learn what you need to kill and what has to die in what order. Besides that small and medium drones can take care of most warp scrams in plenty of time. just keep an eye for those blue lights.
