Well im comming back to FFXI after playing WoW and quitting after BC came out. So i've made the decision but i really dont want to go back to a highly japanese server like the one i was on last time, made grouping even harder and more boring, so does anyone know a mainly English speaking server thats friendly? I wonder is there a list of Nationality population on server worlds? either way i really dont want to be surrounded by players i have to use auto translate to communicate with!
Thanks in advance Ibster |

There is no best server. A server is not a short-term commitment. The server you are on today is the server you will likely be on in a week and a month and a year and maybe two years from now. Any favorable thing about a particular server right now at this minute could be VERY different and perhaps extremely negative next Tuesday. Server populations evolve and change over time, and nobody on this forum can give any kind of accurate assessment of every single FFXI server. Unless you know people on a particular server, you should not feel any special prejudice towards any server. They all have good, they all have bad. It will change tomorrow, and it will change two days from now. Don't sweat server choice, just take one that has a name you like. |

Originally posted by Rinic Agreed. It always depends on what someone's idea of best is too. It depends on the time of day more than anything about what "type" of party you get. If you play when it's in the evening in Japan, you'll get more Japanese players. Same as for the US and Europe. Also, a lot of people can be good and bad. Resources sell more frequently hence higher prices but, battling more for those resources too and for the NM's. But, on a less populated server you get less fighting for NM's and less people vying for resources, but fewer people to pay too. Me? I'd rather have more people than less and i happen to not mind a japanese dominant party as i dont generally talk while in pt anyways. I play on Bismarck and we seem to have an even split across the regions. Great server, great population, but they pretty much all are probably. EVE - Sharvala |
