Remember Developers... NGEing a Game IS NOT the way to make it cool!

Besides, when people will realise games are supposed to be fun, and not feel like work, any fun game could kill WoW.
So 8 million people don't know what fun is?
Only you do?
Please tell us all what the definition of fun is.

I think dapsy is right, to a degree...
WoW started off being fun, you had this huge, open world, loads of different landscapes, heaps of quests, everything was new and exciting...
But then, somewhere in the mid 40s-50s, who did not feel like at the start of his shift, when he logged on, scanned his quest log about what to do in the next 4 hours?
I know I felt like that...
"*Sigh* Ok, let's see. 15 Earthworms, to the East, ok. 10 Sand Crabs, to the West... it's orange, so I better go to the east first, let's see what else is in the east... 10 Poison Bags, ok, oh and 12 ancient plates, ok that's good enough. Here we go. An Earthworm, click click, killed. Where's the next one? Ah here. Click Click killed, and here one plate."
*Half an Hour later*
"Goddammit, get off me, stupid earthworm...aah hell, click click killed. Where's that fu**ing last ancient plate?! FU**IN EARTHWORMS!"...

But, on the other hand, for the quick fun, MMORPGs aren't the genre to go. I play MMORPGs to have something to do for the next 8 weeks, not to have a distraction for a day or two.

Sorry, I should have underlined it but ''addiction'' was a key word there.

W.a.r is comming. Get ready to beat up you neighbour

we need more wow killers, wow is a life stealing game and only is fun for the super hardcore people who get to make it to lvl 70 - which i am not. WAR however is fun if you play it 10 mins per week or 10 hours per day since a low lvl 'noob' has the chance of killing one of the better players in the game. in wow and other typical mmorpgs you have to powergrind to a top level before you make any type of dent.

plastictroll speaks the truth. Twinks will not be a problem anymore. No more uber gear with ridicluous stats, no more staying at the lower pvp brackets with uber gear. Players HAVE to pvp in order to get the most of the level experience. In fact, WAR will spawn npc allies to aid unbalanced fights, where a group of better geared players facing a PUG. And gear is rated by a point system.

cheers

This game wont touch WoW.

I doubt this game will touch anything, maybe with the exception of SWG

I think it would be ironic if everyone was made of iron.

What else is there to compare it to? Like it or not, WoW is the MMO. At this point no game is going to be able to kill WoW except for WoW itself, which I don't see happening any time soon. WoW's subscription base has gone nowhere but up since launch. Even if half of WoW's population left, it would still be in competition with any new MMOs coming out.

Actually it probably went down more than up and doubt anyone will play the game after they left.  Also pvp is a major thing in mmo's now which I think a lot of people look foward to a game more than the pve which is what WAR is all about. Maybe it wont be as large as WoW but it will sure be in competition with it,

WoW has, what, 6 million subscribers? 7 million? I can't remember. But you don't get that amount of subscribers by going down. And The Burning Crusade sold 2.4 million copies in 24 hours. Sure, WAR will be in competition with WoW. But it's not going to kill WoW, and it's certainly not going to knock WoW off it's #1 spot.
