Server merger is not a NGE

For the love of God, I think today's children are loosing their minds at a faster rate than any other generation.

This is not only a server merge.

They are removing a game mechanic. They could have just merged the team PVP servers together, but instead there removing that and all servers, after the merge will now be FFA.

Won't say it's as extreme as the NGE, but it is a change in the fundmental design of certain servers.  It's like WoW losing loads of subs, and having to merge servers. But instead of merging PvE with PvE, they make ALL servers PVP and merge.

What? A server merge is the ONE thing SOE didn't do...

Haha, fundamental. PVP wasn't even part of the game till the last minute. It's hardly fundamental.

I feel for you guys, but it's just a server TYPE. If you guys had enough players there for them to keep supporting it'd still be around. How many people supported that server? How many played SWG? Seriously there is no comparison. It's a pvp mechanic at most, not a change across ALL servers including removing multiple class types.

Besides if there are enough of you guys that want it ask for it. You're not asking Brad McQuad for something here... It could happen.

Since some folks in this thread seem determined to try and compare the Vangaurd server merges to anything that happened in SWG, here's a primer. First, this was the CU:

Nothing even remotely comparable to either of these has happened to Vanguard. What VG is going through is called a server merger. That's it. End of list. Please don't overreact to what is happening with VG by trying to compare it to something entirely different. With both the CU and the NGE, Star Wars Galaxies became an entirely different game than what it was at launch. That's NOT happening here. The only thing they're doing is consolidating their populations to make the server populations healthier.
