[edit] you might also want to check the pvp builds forum o official site. there is a free trial so try it for yourself is the best advice I can give. if u dont like the PvE then dont play this game cause its mostly a PvE game is all I can say

The video doesn't lie, and as you can clearly see there are like 5 heros to every villian, which is right on the money of what y ou will see in game.. As you can also see heros stay bunched up together constantly, usually hidding in AOE holds... I won't even get into the fact taht Heros archtypes are so much stronger then villian archtypes....Nor will I get into the fact that there are only a few Villian archtypes that can even be somewhat successfull in PVP.

I'll just say that during beta and early realease the developers said they did not want pvp in this game, but they folded and decided to add it later as they saw that their numbers were not as good as they hoped... And you can tell it was added as a after thought.

there is no question heros are overpowered in terms of pvp play. you could brush it off and say , well , maybe they have been playing longer, or maybe the villians did not make a good toon.,  no ,,, in terms of pvp , heros have the advantage all the time,..  i have a da/dm brute and i can barley keep up with  the heros in terms of kill/ratio , and also in terms of atk and def.

heros get a better atk damage and acc then that of villians

heros get  a better def , then of that of villians

heros get a better arch type in terms of class choice.

villians only get , stalkers and masterminds.  , thats it. nota, nothing, it is unbalenced.

i play this game since beta and stil love to play. I personaly like pvp in this game. I have pvp Chars in Heroes and Villains. Herose are little stronger when come in team fights but on 1 vs 1 i think villains are little stronger. I personaly preffer Villains becouse its more chaleging and i like be a "evil"     and kick some hero ass with my EM / Eltr Brute or my EM/Nin stalker and when in team i use my Fire/Psi Dominator . But as some power sets are more better for pvp i think if u know what are u doin and what u can do u can be good with any powerset or Archtype.

Its more of who is playing than what powers u got. Also when few people who knows what are they doin they can be deadly when playing Villains teams. Theres a little more hero playes mostly becouse when pvp come out many already had few lvl 50 toons and didnt want to go all over again to lvl 50 with villains but more and more people are playing villains now .

you have a elec brute  and a elec stalker,   lmfao ,  no wonder you may think villians are little stronger, cause thoese 2 are the only true kick arse classes to choose from,, ever tried a dmda brute ?, no you have not. and why ?

end drain hogs,

output for damage lowest of the arch types of the brutes

input of the deffence is the lowest of the archtypes

no distance attacks,,

and by the time you got your stuns roots and snares , all of the heros either have combat jumping, or some form of a abillty , weathe rit be in their archtypes themselfs or not   to counters  snares roots fears, stuns, 

just the other day i went into bloody bay and could not kill a single hero, and came across a lvl 50 .. he freaking 3 shoted me

heros get a little thing called build up, thats allmost the qeuivilant of a dominators super charged attack, the diffrence tho,. is,  dominators suck. 

the only good classes in cov, are masterminds and stalkers. thats about it.

Dominators rules if u know how to play with them i got lvl 50  fire / psi and that toon rocks. I have all Archtypes on Hero and Villain side all lvl 50 and they all do good in pvp .

Yes its trure that some powersets are more  pvp frendly but i have fun with any of my toon in pvp no metter do i have pvp powerset or not. And its all about fun anyway, isnt it

There is no ULTIMA Archtype , u Will die no mater what your powerset is . It doesnt matter if you are a Hero or Villain u WiLL die in pvp .

You Will kill no mataer what u play , just have fun m8 .

I also want to add that for teh most part COH/COV PVP consist of a bunch of overpowerd heros all huddled together in a tight little circle and a AOE hold of some type or hugging the sac of a Storm Defender (who is hard as hell to hit due to his power)....This is the tatic of choice for heros and what I call Chicken PVP since all they do is hold it other and wait for you to come around so they can TP you into their little circle of death..

If they are not doing this they are probably TPing(teleporting) you into drones, which is another BS tatic.  Bottom line is if you really like PVP, you will hate it in this game.

What u just describe is realy a "chicken tactic" and i see that but theres a cure for that u only need just 1 good stalker to breake that - Dark armor Stalker.  

Stalker with dark armor just jump into middle of that group - die - use his tier 9 power (resurect) and BAM - the whole group is Disoriented - the rest of stalker team just annihilate the Heroes.

U see theres always a cure for any tactic even for something u just describe. What i wona say is that every Archtype can be defeated its just need some practice .

I pesonaly when playing with Brute EM /Electric armor  (thats the best brute set for pvp in Villains ) i feel like  God. And i only loose if theres a few heroes on me i never lost 1 vs 1 but still i saw a movie where a defender tear a part the same brute i got on 1vs 1 .

To bad that dude is not on my server i would like to fight him becouse he realy know what he was doin.

I also dont wona say that PvP in COX is the best  - no it doesnt but its fun to play .  But i played many many MMORPGS and i didnt find a game with PVP where everything is balanced . Especialy in COX u cant expect to all be balanced becouse that game when first come out didnt sopose to have pvp but they changed that and now Devs are slowly  fixing things in game. And they got a realy big job to do becouse theres sooo many powersets to balance and i know its hard work.

Well for me pvp is quite different from those that have posted.

I pvp with Villians only. I do have my heroes but villians is where i pvp with my VG. We are a villian PVP vg. Simply put we want to show everyone that wants a challenge to pvp with villians. PVPing in easy mose is with heroes because of how easy it is. Vilians are tougher to pvp with. No we don't 1 vs 1 cuz that is not how the system is meant to work in COx. PVP here is meant to be with  a team. We also do zone pvp and kickball on the Liberty server.  Are group ot team build is simple: 6 corruptors and 2 other ATs. We basically can walk into a zone and scare all the heroes away until they bring  a boatload of def and scrappers.

We are currently not a competitive pvp vg. And i don't think we will be either. For that u would need to be on test server alot. They do now have a pvp events coordinator on test.

If u want to look us up, go to guildportal and search for Shakedown. That is the only pvp vg that we know of but more are coming.

I too PVP on Villain side on Freedom. Zones here are 50/50.  I've seen Villain Sg's wipe out heroes when out numbered 2 to 1 in RV and SC. I've also seen a team of 8 Hero Sg outnumbered villains 3 to 1, base camping villain base. But the fun stuff happens when PVP SG's collide. In Warburg the other night Freaks, GMW, and some others were fighting near the hero beach. There was only 2 of us from my VG. I was on my Mind/Fire Dominator and my SG mate was a Ice/Thermal. We preyed on the Weak, usually the ones who had their end drained or immoblized. Then I got a little brave and started to TK and Mass Confuse whole groups. Damn I got beat up bad, they don't like that stuff.Good times.

I suggest if you want PVP, roll a toon on Freedom and join a PVP SG
