Ok, not so long ago, right after I quit playing that piece of boring crap game WoW. I decided I was going to take a hiatus from MMOs and spend some time brainstorming ideas for what kind of MMO I was looking for. You see, I had come to a point where MMOs gave me no satisfaction what so ever when I played them. So anyhow, I spent a week or two coming up with gaming ideas, mechanics, game structure and so on. I finally centered on one specific area that seemed most interesting to me. That was greek mythology which I had based off of my experience with playing Age of Mythology. Yes, I know, thats not an MMO, but anyhow. I was coming up with ideas, such as players serving/worshiping greek gods and gaining powers as they leveled based upon which god or goddess they were worshiping. I was also leaning towards allowing players to mix skills available by worshiping more then one god. Now, here comes the freaky part. It probably wasn't more then 3 days after I had started drafting up more game ideas based on this, when I saw Gods and Heroes listed on mmorpg.com as a new game. I was in shock when I saw the game title and thought, whoa, no way. So I clicked on the link and checked out the website. I was so freaked out at what I saw, I couldn't believe it. It was like they read my damn mind. I hadn't gone the way of squad combat, but aside from that, the game in itself is almost exactly what I was going to draft up. I know this is just a corny story and all, but I had to share it because it's a true story and we all need truth from time to time. I guess you can say I'll be playing Gods and Heroes for sure when it comes out. If it's anything like Age of Mythology but in a grander sense, I'm going to fall in love. I'm definately enjoying this weeks daily updates on it though. Lots of inticing info to read about.

Not sure about a PvP server but PvP at release will be limitted to arenas and duels. The first few expansions they will start to add in playable enemy races and PvP should take off after that. Sounds like they have a sound plan to try to keep the game updated and fresh.

If they put in PvP later on, with seige warfare, city building and resource control, I'd wet my pants...and go buy the game (in that order). |

I also will have an clean, dry pair of boxers for when they announce the first xpack where you can play an enemy race. However if you play before the PvP is implemented you will have a good deal of experience with the squad tactics and will have an edge on the people just coming in. Yah the PvP is what I'm looking forward to in the game. Hopefully they are able to follow their schedule and produce large scale PvP when they plan too. Cuz damn, army vs army of players with some l337 squads, I need tome new undies.

Thanks for that info. That didn't seem to advance the conversation any, either. |

A very simular thing happened to me... I have been thinking, damn... these mmo's are way too easy, got bored of Vanguard because half the classes in the game could fairly easily kill six dot names, which in previous games have been resserved for group/raid only. There litterally wasn't anything just one player couldn't handle. I started thinking, what would I like to play... Came back to the Diablo era and thought if only they had a submersive theme that was hard, had some actual deaths in it and had mercenaries that you could equip, it would be awsome... Lo and behold! It has happened in ROME!!! My jaw dropped when I saw the video where all the mortals were killing slain and I thought, wow, I want to be the first to get killed in this game. I am also looking at age of conan and warhammer online, but so far this game looks like my home! Please... Do NOT make this game too easy.
What was the last hard MMORPG you have enjoyed? I don't really know of a hard one I've played. Hardest thing I've ever done had to be fallen gate in EQ2 lol.. after that duneon the whole game was downhilll. |

It was late at night for me... I forgot to look at the date posted. If you would check my total number of posts, this would be like the third one, I don't totally understand the system yet. I thought going to the last page would bring up the most recient posts, boy was I wrong! LOL. The message still is the same however, what was true then is definately as sad today. I am just thankful that 3 nice MMORPG's are underway and at least one will be my style. |

I actually felt that way about AoC when I was thinking about how great it would be where you could actually target different points of the body rather than slash anywhere I literally went "You bastards!" when I saw that feature listed in AoC it is weird but it just goes to show how developers are veering away from the usual grind idea of MMORPG's
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place. |

Well, if he was so smart, he'd know that your not supposed to quote an entire message if it's only the previous one; then adding one sentence to it lol... Must play WoW or something. |

I have been waiting on a game like this for years... All of my friends and myself are hooked, hope it doesn't disappoint.
