Let me just make a long story short: 1) Obsessive PC gamer jumps into the world of MMORPG's. 2)Said Name Gamer (SNG) plays numerous titles over many years (started with SWG beta and did just about every major title after that). 3)Same SNG hooks up with a chick and leaves MMORPG's in the dust (What can I say? She had wounderful eyes). 4)After what appeared to be a concrete relationship, SNG's woman and him split on what many would consider "less than good" terms. 5)SNG thinks getting back to his roots in MMORPG's isn't such a bad idea (SNG has been out of the loop for almost 2 years). 6)SNG solicits his peers in an effort to find the most rewarding best online gaming expierience out there. Mostly, because SNG doesn't want to waste his time and money on fancifully packaged crap that couldn't capture the attention of a chimp for more than 5 minutes. 7)SNG just takes a minute to remind anyone replying to this post that genre, PvP, PvE, PvR, crafting, community, etc. really doesn't matter. SNG is just looking for a fun game and your opinions DO matter on ANY point of interest. 7a)SNG takes a long pull off of his favorite beer (Blue Moon if you're interested) and lights a cigarette. Thanks, Said Name Gamer (SNG) |

Nice post, but I highly suggest you wait for these upcoming mmorpgs, unless you dont mind hardcore raiding you can play wow, if your looking for casual friendly and harmless fun there is city of heroes and city of villians, auto assualt if your into a chaotic world full of destruction and crazy action, everquest 2 is pretty decent can be time consuming but its up to you. If your into lotr check out lotro its good but lacks in combat you may not like the clunky feeling. Eve online if you like sci fi with ships and in depth pvp, if you dont mind graphics to much dark age of camelot. And if you like sandbox games ryzom would be the best hands down plus its very differant. Sorry I could not help more there just isnt anything good out at the moment. |

SNG likely won't be able to find an MMORPG that is as much fun as a woman can be. I recommend some new clothes, a haircut and a trip to a night club. Online is good too. You won't be able to find a game you like without wasting at least a few bucks. No one can truly tell you what you will like, especially 2 years later. |

I'm serious... Its a sad state to hear that you think you can replace a relationship with a online game? Do you want to end up fat, balding and alone with only the glow of your monitor to keep you warm. If it was her fault forgive her and make up, if it was your fault, beg for forgiveness and make up. If niether of those will ever happen, find a new girl. But, damn... go live your life.

I don't think I can throw you a bone cuz I've been trying to throw it to my old lady. Anyways I think you just asked for a fun MMO. I am at LotRO and having alot of fun. If you want I have a buddy key that I am willing to give you since you have been out of the loop for so long but you will have to figure out how to download or get the game client. Just send me a yes or no to my MMORPG.com email. In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect. |

I do agree with you but I dont think thats what he meant, I think he means he is just looking for something fun not something to escape reality, I totally understand sometimes when im stressed or upset I like to play a game to relieve its alot better then ruining your health and going out to drink instead, but escaping is not a good thing to do and will never heal or replace the way you felt for someone.

Some of the biggest (albeit older) online games have released all-in-one products (original and all expansions in one box), notably Everquest, Everquest II and DAOC. You get a month of free play and generally, it's worth the price of the box to explore these games. Some games, like Eve Online, and many smaller games, have downloadable clients and usually offer free trials. You might want to explore some of them since there is no cash layout. |

Just got a chance to hit the forums back up (been busy lately) and I just wanted to thank you all for the input. Also wanted to send a shout out to all the non-observent butt clowns who thought their nuggets of wisdom had any bearing on my original line of questioning. Gasp! I have a life! Gasp! I can balance online gaming with being social! I was never trying to replace a relationship with online gaming. I merely shared that tid-bit to relate my abscence from the MMO community to my fellow gamers. If you want to give relationship or life advice, go hit up a Dr. Phil blog. I'm just here to get gaming advice from gamers. By the way, my mother's basement has a fantastic view of her tiger lilly garden and you're all invited over for Scrabble! She's serving Wheat Thins! |

I'm on the english speaking server, Arispostle, so look me up. Name is Beau. Ask around, someone will point you my way. I'll give ya some cash and show ya round! Beau

And now for on track. I'm checking out Voyage Century right now so maybe you can hit that up. It has that EVE kind of feel, but with sea travel.

To be honest, I would do some research on all the games due to be released at the end of year and early/mid '08. You should be able to find a great game that you will enjoy, there's many to choose from so research wisely and good luck!

Well, if you just want to waste a bit of time till the next big thing comes, Rapplez is not too bad for a free to get, free to play game. Its sort of like Lineage II light... sort of, minus the huge siege warfare pvp .
If you prefer to go the purchase, pay to play there isn't really that much of a choice out there other then, WoW, EQ2, EVE or maybe Lineage II if you don't mind grinding and open PvP. |

Well I'll be your ambasador from Guild Wars today, Basically Guild Wars is in my opinion a fun game and I quite enjoy its flexibility, you can play as casual as you like since there is an option for PvP-Only characters that start out maxed, however max level is very easy to obtain. So pretty much you pvp a lot, pve is great and all but the major attraction is the fast, and imho very competetive pvp. Uhh just a quick fact, there are 150~200 skills per class, you can only use 8 skills at a time, you can combine 2 classes to benefit from eachothers skills / spells etc. Also its great value, you can pick it up for the price of just a normal game, well less than now since its been out for a few months depending on what campaign you get and there are no on-going fees. It takes literally 30 seconds to get into a 4v4 arena which is completely random in what other players are on your team. So to sum it up, great value, nice graphics, makes you think and most of all is very flexible in terms of how much time you sink into it. |

Might i suggest FFXI if you have the time to play it. Awesome game, best storyline, best combat/group dynamics, and awesome community imho. Nice choice of beer btw, all you need is a lil green to go with it and you set

If you were at Pre-NGE SWG then you are not going to find nowadays any MMO worth it. But it'd be wise to check some free games out, not wasting a few bucks for linear level based questing boredom of a hell. EVE's free trial's nice, scifi action and good PvP or Voyage Century if you feel more like a Pirate sealing free, and for free ~yeah, both games share a simmilar feeling~, and they are both good games.
