Does the BC expansion make it something I can't miss out on? I quit WoW about six months before the expansion and I'm curious to hear if there are any new layers to the game.

tbh, leveling 60-70 was actually fun i have to say, but other than that, being level 70 is the same pattern as being lvl 60, grind reputations, gears, raid instances and wander around big cities waiting for the next raid!

honestly, if you're an actual casual player, yeah, there's stuff to see. if you enjoy endlessly grinding instance after instance, yeah, stuff for you. if you play a lot and don't like doing the same crap again and again, nope, don't bother. could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please? |

Well I didn't make it to 60. I got sucked into that whole "Sham"guard thing. So it should be even longer before I face the boredom. How about the state of the battlegrounds? Is twinking still in full force? That probably pissed me off more than anything....

If you didn't make it to 60, don't count on making it to 70. The grind is the same old grind, with the same old quests. And once you're high enough you enter this new zone that's pretty close, especially with epic flying mounts. If you loved getting ganked by high level people before who had nothing to do in an empty game, it's worse now. Depending on your class, you might get a few new mediocre spells. However, in the end it's a chat room where you can kill animals, demons, humanoids. The raiding is still ridiculous and is based more on your dancing skill than actual strategy. Keeping spread out while hoping a healer keeps the tank alive and the dps doesn't get themselves killed is the main plan. The battlegrounds...people for the most part don't pvp NEARLY as much as they used to since the gear for it is very sub-par. It's all anti crit with high hp. Which isn't very useful if you want to pve. Twinking...hard to say. It could be worse since people have even more money now to buy even more lowbie gear, but not as many people are playing the low levels since they're busy playing to 70. In my opinion, it's only about a month of amusement at max. If I were you, I'd just wait for the next big thing instead of getting sucked back into the WOW addiction.

I came back today on my 10 day trial of BC.... man this game sucks now. I can't believe I used to play WoW it's that bad for me anyway. Glad I didn't pay $40 bucks + $15 to see the current state of the game. Lame lame lame....

Originally posted by BlackKeys I had a level 60 Priest when BC launched. Ultimately a lot of the content is fun. Sure, some of it is grind oriented, but it wouldn't be WoW without a substantial focus on grinds. I had a lot of fun until I got to the point where Heroic dungeons and raids were my only chance of upgrades. I didn't have the time or money to continue running multiple-hour dungeons. But, if you are a casual with multiple alts who you plan on running up to 70, you will have fun. |

It's definitely worth coming back to WoW. It's the best thing out there atm and you shouldn't miss out.

Yeah, best thing if you're into crappy graphics, entire zones and places of non-paying quests, clones of each other as everyone of each race looks exactly alike, kick ass grinding to advance, same type quests over and over, lots more to add but it's not even worth it. if you're into this then yes, it's a monster game to go to. |

And is WoW worth coming back to? For me, no. For you, maybe. Matters on if you plan to play casually, or if you want to go all out on the "Whose shoudler pads are bigger?" idea. I think the only person who can really look at the game and decide if it's worth your 15 USD a month, is you. You've played it before, it hasn't changed except there is more pretty eye-candy. The community is the same, the graphics style is the same, the combat is the same, the mass amounts of time needed to level are the same. Only thing that has changed is instead of you wanting to get 60 to do Stratholme and Scholomance, you want to get 58 to go to Outlands, that way you can progress to raiding Level 70 dungeons. |

I went back to WoW after a several month hiatus and the total failure of V:SoH which I was banking on to be my 'next big thing', and I'm quite happy with what Blizz has done. I'm in a casual raiding guild full of friends from the numerous other servers I've been on over the years - meaning we only "raid" on Friday nights. We are the number 8 guild on the server, and yet we dont have a DKP system, a raid shedule calender on the forums, a set raid schedule (other than a standing 'hey, if you can make if Friday night we'll run Karazhan')... I started over completely - I rolled a Draenei priest at 1 while the rest of the guild was 65+, and now that I'm 70 and still trying to get all of my keys (just bought my flying mount last weekend), I still manage to have a blast on the weekends running instances, playing battlegrounds, doing arena combat with guildies, working the auction house... Even farming mats is kinda entertaining because 5 of us will get on vent, get into a group, and run around Nagrand farming motes/leather, defending Halaa, and generally laughing it up. What keeps the game fun is that we generally don't do things for the "L00tz", we do it as a function of having a good time, and that really keeps the drama at bay... Though we do have a few loot-whores and epic metro-sexuals who wont do anything if it doesn't benefit thier need for new purples, but they don't tend to stick around long. Ultimately WoW is about your guild - if you have a good guild any game is fun, but in WoW there is just such an air of not taking it seriously that we can make even the most mundane entertaining. |

Wow, its amazing to see that so many people still hate this game. I don't know about all you wow trolls, but in my opinion, wow is the best thing out there right now for casual/hardcore gamers. BC introduced some diffaculty to the game and loads of instance/raid/pvp content. No other game out there at the moment does what WoW does, and has done for the last 3 years. Is wow worth comming back to, not sure. I have a good guld and probally would not play if it wasen't for them. So yeah, its all about the ppl you play with. After all, these games are ment to be enjoyed together, even though wow is very solo friend up to the max level.

I've played WoW 2.5 years..and after those first 2 years as a Tank, Maintank, Raidleader, Officer and in some cases Guildleader. I can't say anything else than, WoW was fun, time to move on . I then proceed to try and move on and bump into a wall of dead MMORPG's and the end result ism e playing a BE paladin, casually. Hardcore can be fun, but it definately does not involve having a social life. Whatever people say. |

no. i regret buying the collectors edition of BC, plus side i got Lurky as European Compensation for Blizzard screwing up.
Downside, crap expansion.. hardly worth the money. Blizzard just waited too long to increase level cap, and it's the same crap all over again. except more factions but balanced with easier rep grinding. oh yeah... fan-bloody-tastic. wait till you get the key to Kaza, turns out all that running about was a waste of time... guy gives you a spare during BM ;) the amount of glaring bugs that were only fixed last week (check patch notes, BT may have been added but look at the amount of bugs fixed) i mean how the hell did they not pick up the gnome one during BM instance during the beta phase last year, i'll never know. too little, too late for me. |

I'm having more fun than ever. Lots of stuff to do and smaller raids means more people can see some sort of end game content because most people were never in large raiding guilds. The people crying about raiding these days were more than likely part of a big guild and has seen the new lower raid numbers effect their guild. For the rest of us, its a great change.
OH MY GOD WE'RE SURROUNDED! SEND FOR BACKUP! DIG IN DEFENSIVE POSITIONS! MAN YOUR NECKBEARDS!!! I'll pre order you SWTOR if you let me put my lightsaber in your sarlaac cave. |

IMO it's worth it just to see the new races and their starting zones and capital cities. The Blood Elf and Draenai capitals are true works of virtual art, you'll be amazed wandering around them and exploring thier little easter eggs even though they're not that big. The BE and Draenai starting zones are also very well-designed. They are extremely stylish and laid out very nicely as far as progression and quests. Blizzard has clearly learned much from their previous mistakes and they have taken the polish of WoW to an even higher level. Unfortunately the rest of the game still has all fo those mistakes so once you get your 20th level BE and Draenai you might not want to do Barrens or Ashenvale or Hillsbrad quests AGAIN so you should just switch to leveling your level 60 until that becomes a grind. I wish they had revamped the rest of the game to match these nice zone designs so it wouldn't be so dull to get my BE and Draenai up to 60. Still the new stuff is worth buying the box and playing until you get bored again. |
