Yeah, that exactly what they need.  One of your ex SWG emo's to totally alienate the current player base.  I could just imagine your first post on the official forums.  "Attention current players.  You are all stupid because you like the game after the NGE.  Thank you"

You fail to see the actual reasoning, what you're seeing is just the angry result. People don't hate the game because of the way it is, they hate it because of the way it was, and that everything they did (or rather, we did) was rendered null and void after several years of the game being live. If SWG had been the way it is now at launch, you'd never see people talk like this about it. And yes, MMO's change, we all know that, but they don't get re-made twice after being live for many years.
SOE didn't so much make changes to the game, as they removed the old game and put in a new one, keeping only the graphics from the old one. In doing so, they proved that they are actually capable of doing something so unheard of to the players, and the "they are stupid" part (in reference to current players, a term I personally don't use) is more about them being willing to continue funding a company that have demonstrated how little they care about the time and effort invested by the players.
They have also lied to the players repeatedly, which just makes it all worse. An example off the top of my head (the lies have been well documented elsewhere, although some are certainly more valid than others) - just a couple of weeks before the NGE went live they sent out the SWG Newsletter which included, among other things, some information about the revamp for the Ranger profession coming in the next patch, and at that point they knew very well that the Ranger would be one of the professions axed with the NGE.

In short; the way the game is after the changes is not really the reason for all the anger, the fact that the changes were made - and the way they were made - is however fundamental. To many people, that becomes extended by association to include the actual changes.

Funniest thing about it was that I have never said anything Pro SOE.  My wife was reading the post over my shoulder and said  "Wow, that guy is a radical Islamic suicide bomber waiting to happen"  But regardless, SOE sack smoocher is still funny as hell.

From what Ive seen most of the anger directed towards the pro-nge crowd comes from the arrogant and condescending attitudes as well as lack of proper arguments as they instead opt for flamebait and trolling.

Looking at it from a neutral perspective of all the discussions you've read here has it been the nge haters or the pro-nge crowd who almost always throw the first punch?  Who most often responds with well thought out arguments?

Of course the nge haters cant be held completely innocent either as they do often rise to the bait.  But in this case I do believe you are at fault for statements such as the one quoted above.  It is a gross and insulting overgeneralization which does not contribute to the ongoing debate in any way.
