To start : EVE is a good game, one of the best on the market. But it does have problems, especially since 2007. Point 1 : CCP investigated itself. It does not matter what they really found, they will ALWAYS tell the public that all is well. The past has shown that their so called IA group that is supposed to stop internal abuse is a PR stunt (T20 incident anyone ?). Point 2: CCP is only giving details on some of the events. They dont tell the public that the true point of the recent ruckus is their way of handling things (NOT the events themselves) .. their problem with customer support. Their deleting of petitions they dont like without working on it. And that they then claim that no petition was every send in. Their rigging of in game events so that one side wins no matter how hard players work for their side ... and when it became too obvious, they pin the blame on a whistleblower that exposed the rigging. Point 3: CCP managers seem to have no idea what some of their junior level employees and volunteers are doing. That there is biased treatment going on, with GMs handing out insider information to buddies outside CCP. In a single shard game like EVE that has devastating consequences ( handing out "money printing machines" to only a selected part of your community is never a good idea). Point 4 : While I consider the Goons a plague in any MMORPG, threatening their leaders with legal action is not the way to go. And as CCP fears a normal lawsuit (which would force them to expose their inner workings as a company to outside review) they cook up some lame accusation based on art copyright infringement ..... coooooome ooooonnnnnn .... absolutely no relevance to the discussion, but a stunt devised by a clever lawyer to sew shut some player mouths without allowing someone from the outside to really investigate the evidence. I expect better from CCP. I expect them to clean up their act !

Simple solution to this sorry affair. CCP created a number or just one corporation for their employees only to play within. They can then help drive the sorylines, play the game and see how it works first hand without ever having to get into the position they are now in. No other mainstream mmo that I am aware of has suffered like CCP from internal shennanigans. I don't know of any uberguilds in other mmo's with DEV's and GM amongst their ranks. If their are I apologise but this is only what I know based on the games I have played. Simply create a China Wall around their employees when playing and they won't have to put up with claims of favoritism and allegations of abuse. Make their employees drivers of storylines and intrigue and make the CPP corps independant from the player corps. Perhaps even make the CCP controlled corps newbie friendly. Being taught how to play the game by the real pro's would be a great advertisment IMO. Thenonce you have a grounding in the game, they migrate you out to join any of the multitude of player run corps. Make the game something worth playing again. It's hardly rocket science. |

Interesting response. Screenshots are interesting ... word-smiths. Funny how there was never this kind of 'public' outing when the DEV was finally exposed as cheating for a corporation. |

Boring. Just stop interacting with BOD. Go play with subscribers, not developers. If I were still playing this game, which I'm not, I would just move to the other side of the galaxy and stop interacting with them. Play however you want, but just realize that you can never beat an alliance that has that much inside information, and always has the possibility to control outcomes and spin it anyway that they want. If BOD takes over the entire universe, the only reasonable option at that point is to /Unsub.

If you are in 0.0 lawless space, there is no way to avoid interaction with the Band of Developers anymore.

Still the best game on the market, allows players to be what they want in game. As far as the anti-BoB's they are jealous they are not a more powerful in game influence. This game requires more than just a controller to play and thus means that people must think and imho by some peoples shallow comments about "The Man (aka CCP)" covering up something that other people say is more insidious than what probably really happened (that is the unphotoshopped real documents and screenshots). I know people do not like BoB, I also know that BoB currently the largest most powerful alliance in game and that by itself makes people envious and dislike BoB. They can recruit for an anti-BoB alliance, after all doesn;'t everyone hate BoB should make it easy to get the numbers for that alliance. Then start building keep recruiting try to take out BoB. If you are whining then its because you cannot do so dont believe in yourself enough or your corpmates or your alliance pals to do so and can't before the ADHD kicks in ! Quit whining quit playing or work hard to attain these goals, oh wait now someone has given you a new excuse for not being able to win the game company won't let you whaaaaaaaa!

Problem is ... there IS no other side of the galaxy anymore.
I understand completely. Well, my response would be that BOD has already "won" the game. The only reasonable option would be to /unsub. Better yet, have the entire eve universe join BOD, that way everyone can "win". As a sidenote, I wonder what that would be like, say 90% of the server joins BOD... oh wait that has already been done in another online game: AC with the Blood monarchy. I won't bore you with the details, let's just say that it's not much fun for the 10% that remain outside of the "uber" guild/corp. It's sad. I agree with a lot of posters in this thread. Eve was a game with great potential, that has been unfortunately wasted away. |

If you belive that eve is a bias game where everyone cheats can i politely ask you to fuck off and let the rest of us who dont beleive that play and enjoy the game. This attitute of im not getting what i want so im gonan ruin the game for everyone else by doing things like posting huge amounts of vulgar porn on there forums (which many goon members did) or by making acusations of something which you knew about as being fine (the dev goining the corp was because of there petition asking for something to be sorted out) is just like a 5 year old not getting the candy he wants. Grow up and let the people who like the game play it, whilst you at it find something worthwhile to do with your life because the amount of effort you have put into this attempt to ruin a perfectly good game you could have gone out and got a job or a social life.

Originally posted by Nilder Yes, EVE is a good game. What you call whining is experience. You can have as many people as you want in an alliance ... when you essentially play against the developers (friends) you cannot "win". a) Cash .... BoD basically got a money printing machine from their dev buddies and dont have to worry as much about where the ISK for replacement parts comes as everyone else has to do. Only lately has invention and the nerf of bugged complexes cut into the seemingly endless cash supply of BoD b) Exploits .... when BoD does it , its a feature ... when someone else does it its an exploit ... "POS bowling" exploit anyone ?! c) Working hard / having experience .... if you think other pilots in 0.0 space work any less hard or have less experience and discipline than BoB, you are mistaken. If anything the others have to work much harder (see (a) and (b) above). But when insider knowledge leads BoD to all your safespots, hidden caches etc. (via ISD special commands .. instajump to any pilot anywhere in space), then there is little one can do. Except to start to cheat, exploit and lie as much as BoD. Which is what the Goons did. And which is STILL the wrong way to do it. So you have NPC controlled empire and maybe low sec. 0.0 space will soon be in control of one group. which is sad for EVE at large. It already killed their Chinese EVE server. Have fun Erillion |

And they prod CCP to shine some light into these shady areas. You call it whining ... i call it making an effort to improve the game. Yes, the Goons are not the shiny white knights of EVE and they are known for breaking/ruining MMORPGs. However, in EVE their self-documented cheating exposes areas so far only reserved for BoB (and all their buddies within CCP). And in typical Goonish ways they drag these problem areas screaming into the glaring light of the public, while BoB kept it all hush-hush within the inner circle. Closing loopholes will only make EVE better in the long run. And will make CCP a more professional outfit than they are now. I doubt CCP managers have an idea how much favoritism and game rigging is done by their lower level employees and volunteers. Have fun Erillion

Do you want to see how "mature" the CCP employees are and how they communicate with customers in game ? Check out this screenshot (the blue name "Sharkbait" is a developer) : http://www.kugutsumen.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=208&d=1180613876 Giving a one finger salute to your paying customers is not the best idea. http://www.kugutsumen.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=208&d=1180613876 be carefull with this webiste its run by a known hacker, he used to hack other peoples forums and even admitted it. |

I operate a pretty good firewall and scanner myself and have never seen a hacking attack from this website. It IS - however - a good site for all kinds of rumours and stuff that gets quickly deleted by moderators on the official EVE-O forums. Take everything with a grain of salt that gets posted there. But that is true for all online forums. It seems to me that K. obtains his knowledge about inner workings of EVE corporations more through a network of player spies and not through hacking. Unfortunately, out-of-game hacking (especially Teamspeak servers), denial-of-service-attacks etc. have become all too common in EVE lately .... originating from many different sides. Kug admitted in a post that he was a hacker in the past and nowadays - like so many hackers before him - gets paid by corps to do security / penetration checks to find IT security loopholes. Um... I shareed the GoonFleet open letter with people... Is CCP going to hunt me down and sue me out of existance too?
Why is it that I get the feeling that it was the lawyers who wrote that? How does what they shown in the third allegation prove 'a history' of anything??? They first shut down the forums to keep them from being brought down, then they open a single one for people to post on the topic of the allegations, then they coincidentally use the number of times they posted discussing their allegations as proof of a 'co ordinated campaign'? somewhere in a bunker Dick Cheney is proud. |

Wait wait!
That last post marked as mine wasn't me!!! I beleive in all the great things CCP has done and I love the game. I would never speack out against them! I mean who would, with how they can collect stats on you, investigate other forums, hunt down the rebel factions, and make things safe for the empire, er... company. CCP is mother, CCP is Father, CCP is your family! You love your family, Don't you? |

OK, this is serious.
I don't know who this yahoo who is posting as me is, but I love EVE and it is the best MMO I have ever played. If something bad were to happen to it, I would be very upset. I have never seen any improproety in the game and hope I never will. And lets face it CCP is a corperation who has to agressively defend itself because it is a target. Any corperation that depends on the whims and opions of current and possible consumers has to fight to keep its reputaion sterling. They just have to be careful not to fight to hard, or they will kill the puppy they are trying to rescue by squeezing to tightly so they don't drop it when trying to save it from the fire. |

Erillion, you should write fiction because that is exactly what all your posts are. Jumping on the goons bandwagon, which you are escentually doing with your silly arguments just pawn you off as another goons board troll. Either play the game or leave, save your whining about nothing for someone else. |

I have written fiction for roleplaying supplements and it has been published. To point out the same problems in the game as the Goons do does not make one a passenger on the Goonie band wagon. It just means that its not a Goon invented fantasy but a real problem that needs solving. In the past I fought the Goons and RAs every day i played EVE. *** hands over some ear plugs *** Here .. take these. Continue playing in your happy little corner of EVE. Enjoy it. You dont have to read about the problems. Meanwhile let us help in making these problems disappear. As a SWG veteran I know that sometimes MMORPG corps need a little encouragment (repeated clubbing of cognitive centers) to understand when they are about to fuck up their own game.
