Normally, we do not so much look at things as overlook them. |
Back when I played EQ1 I really enjoyed playing the beastlord class when it was first introduced (with luclin, I think?). This seems like it would be the perfect time to reintroduce it with the new Kunark expansion. I would make a Sarnak beastlord from scracth if there indeed was one. Just like EQ1, make each beastlords races' pet unique to that race, and have the pets grow in size as they level alongside the beastlord. Perhaps also for consideration would be a mountable pet at later levels, or for the sake of balance, a mount similiar to the paladin/sk one at level 20, something built more for show than for go (or for early levels)

I used to have a Beastlord in EQ1 too but unfortunately SOE are adamant the Beastlord Class was wiped out. They may bring a class in similar maybe? |

Beastlord type-rangers/scouts with animal pets are my most favoured classes in any MMO's. |

My idea of the Beastlord class is this. Since there are dual classes (IE Warlock Wizard, Necro Conj) they should make 2 beastlord classes. One should be melee/pet and the other should be ranged/pet. Give one to each faction and there you have it. It would be interesting to see people tame pets but I highly doubt they will do that since Necros and Conj have different pets for each occasion. This idea would be awesome to see and everybody would enjoy it. Its about time they gave us another class. |

Originally posted by shadout00 Well if you want to be technical there was at least 2 types of Beastlords in EQ1. The melee BL... and the pet cleric. Could just have one be mostly melee based... and the other have better pet buffs, heals and dots.. (notice I didn't say better pets.. just better pet buffs). Personally I wouldn't trust the EQ2 devs to have the slightest clue how to implement a class like this. (and yes I play EQ2... but I've been in the game since the friends and family beta of it.. and its just my personal point of view). I have tried to log into EQ1 a few times... to play my old beastlord.. but he still runs like he has a popsicle stick somewhere it shouldn't be etc etc I saw the one developer comment on BL's.. It made some reference to everyone on the moon died... which I always thought was a lame comment to make. Since there were races that could be beastlords there weren't exactly based on the cheese... err moon. I did play a cat.. but I mean c'mon... I know there was at least 3 other races that could be beastlords (so I never bought that excuse). The balance one I guess.. because the one thing they have never figured out is... game = entertainment. But hey that's another discussion.. would love to play a beastlord again.. since they nerfed most of the pet classes in EQ2 into crap mode. My Necro and Conj are perma parked unless my guild needs them.. if I want to hunt err farm I log on my SK. |

Then there's Dark Age of Camelot, we also have a situation where we have well over 100,000 subscribers." -Frank Gibeau of Electronic Arts. Does it seem odd that UO has more subscribers than the best RvR game on the market? |

The EQ2 devs have stated repeatedly that they will not be adding any new classes to the 24 already present. That is not to say they never will, but it is highly unlikely to occur in the next couple of years. |

At the last SOE convention someone had asked a Dev if they were going to add Beastlord in eq2, the Dev replied with a stern "We have no plans to ever add Beastlord into EQ2". So it really doesn't look like it. |
