I never played Planetside unfortunately. It looks like an awesome game and I regret that I never got it. But I'm looking at Huxley... and it looks like it could have many similarities. I'm looking for any comparisons or input from those who actually played Planetside? Thanks, - Phos

Its gonna be more of a larger scale (100 v 100) version of UT witha persistant city to live in than a huge system of planets to fight over.

Huxley is not like planetside at all. In fact, Huxley shouldn't even be called a MMO. Huxley is more like Battlefield2/2142. In the fact that your stats/rank/avatar/class/etc are kept on the server. Other then that, the game has standard 32v32 battles. Sure, you go into the battles through some sort of in-game instance, like maybe run into a shuttle or something of the sorts, but it isn't like planetside where it is truly MMO. Any 'mmo' which has heavy instancing can not be truly called a MMO. Huxley can not and will not have battles that literally have THOUSANDS of people involved. Back in the day when Planetside has lots of subscribers you would have 3-4 continents population locked, and battles everywhere on every continent. The major big-time holy cr@p battles (Usually 3-4 of them going on around the entire world) are just something that an instanced game could never have. The bridge battles in planetside were amazing. You would have 2 factions squaring off at the bridge and bombs blowing off everywhere. Wherever you looked you would see people. People were on the bridge like fly's are on sh!t. You could shoot a missle randomly anywhere on the bridge and have a guarenteed kill. Snipers would exhaust their ammo almost immediatly, as they were constantly firing and wracking up kills. Tank drivers could drive 1/4 over the bridge and crush 20+ guys then get blown up. Then some lucky CR5 would use an orbital strike, and kill (I sh!t you not) sometimes in excess of 75+ people. It was crazy. Games like huxley could never compete.
