After hearing of the pet incubator announcement, I've already decided to re-activate my SWG account.
The game is great, pre-CU and post. The NGE isn't as bad as nearly everyone seems to portray it as. Yes, it sucked, lots, and lots, of balls back when they first did the update, however, it has gone major changes that have been beneficial. There is one (and yes, only one) problem that I have with the gameplay, and that is the major grindfest it is to get to level 90. Yeah, sure, the Kashyyyk and Mustafar quests help a lot, but only so far. The "expertise" system (which is really a talent system only you get points every few levels) is a great feature, mainly because it made PvP much, much more fun. To all of you incessant nay-sayers, if you're really that upbeat about having a game changed to something (and I say this at risk) better than it was before, go organize your posse and picket outside various SOE offices. Personally, I think you're just too lazy to participate in the combat instead of spamming various abilities. The loss of the incredible class tree system is yes, a sad one, but it was for the better. They most likely have intentions of changing the classes around to more fit the old system. You also have to realize that by knocking down all of the classes to only a handful, they also combined certain classes. And so, yeah, that's my rant. I hope to see more of you guys in-game!

This thread is just asking for flames..... So here's one.... Veteran players will not come back not because SOE are supposedly bringing the old features back, but because they have been lied to, cheated out of their money and had all their progress taken away from them with no compensation for the time that they spent getting that progress. The reason I say they, is because I spent most of my time roleplaying and socializing in pre-cu SWG so I did not feel the full brunt of the patches that were introduced, but for all that, I had the community I really liked taken away from me and I had friends there that I now probably will never meet online again because I didn't have a chance to get their contacts out of game, the loss of the pre-cu SWG wasn't just a nerf, it was an entire community an entire several years worth of development and gameplay.

(But this was after a heated argument with a CSR). I don't even see why they have to be as blind as to not put up "Classic" servers, which would essentially triple their current monthly income. But hey, they want to make a dumb decision such as that, so let them have their way and find something else to play.

the reason most of us will never come back is because. we feel sold out by SOE. no matter how much they change swg . we where done wrong and nolonger trust SOE in any fasion. for my self the hurt is so deep , i will not play any SOE game. |

Nah..April 05 was the time when SWG started to lose me, just went down from there..There has been to many things changed that doesnt appeal to me..But SOE may try CU3 third times a charm it needs it..Actually if i think if they took the best parts of the last 2 systems, and improved them polished it,.Then post asking for more players to come back wouldnt be needed.. |

Show me another game that is just like SWG pre-CU and I will jump in a heartbeat. The thing of it is....every game that is in development, is nothing like our old game. I hope to see a game like the once we loved...but it simply is not likley. The industry is not GOING TO BUILD A GAME LIKE THAT....EVER AGAIN! It goes against every trend in the current market. I came back. I started over from lvl 1 under the legacy quests system. Under the NGE it works very well. I do miss the Pre CU era but I am actually having a good time. WTF happened? It used to be worse than Trunk Federations 2nd CD after the little guy quit. In fact I messed with Beast Master in Test Center and it was really good. I have to admit the expertise system works. I still miss the skill system. The loot system works although I feel crafters are shafted. But there seems to be a new change in the air. I quit doing PVP so I can embrace PVE- which was a good decision.
This game is getting better since Jules T is gone. Ok------- go ahead and flame me  I can only write what I see\play\and feel. I do love you all and expect a good kick in the head  because I was so anti SWG post CU. |

I have to agree that there's never a better time to come back to SWG and SOE games in general! Especially with Station Access! $30 for 6 great MMOs! Wow. That's a value IMHO! I'm never bored now looking for a MMO to play. Teamed up with Ventrilo and all my friends on that, we never have a lack of fun things to do now! SWG is awesome now Post-NGE (that's what we call it now with the new Expertise system and Legacy quest series)! I'm enjoying it honestly better than pre-CU! The old system frankly sucked. Everyone knew it. Those of you that are anti-SOE just won't admit it now after NGE released. Alot of good things came of NGE, but admittedly I hated it when it first came out. But after 18 months on...hey. I can live with NGE now! It's become a terrific thing for SWG!!! So anyways. Me and my friends (most of us have stayed with it through the bad and worst parts of the last 18 months, but now, we're glad we stayed! It's been a LONG-term payoff, with much fun had along the way. After all...isnt that why we play video games? To have fun and not worry about what someone is doing in San Antonio, TX? I sure don't think about Devs when I play video games. It's about me hanging out with my friends and all of us having a good time! :D Peace all! |

Ok, I'm reading how amazing the game is now.. but I still can't find this elusive server that everyone is re-living the SWG experience. The servers I have logged on to have sage brush rolling around. lol. Seriously, I would love to experience this wonderful rebirth.. post your servers and where everyone is hiding so I can join in. Thanks!
