What's the LOTRO end game? Only monster play? Since im playing early access now and I'm already lvl30, so hope there is some nice end game once I hit 50 :)

From what I understand European version does not have a level cap in the open beta. Bahz might be playing Euro version.

As to the OP, I can't answer that as I've only gotten to level 15 in US version.

Bahz is from Holland, so he will be playing the European version of the game.

Codemasters did things a little differently from Turbine in that they didnt start Open Beta until 14 April. However, to the best of my knowledge there is no cap on levels in the European Open Beta.

I'm sorry Bahz, I dont have a clue whats instore for you at endgame in LotRO as I only played a few toons to the low 20's in Closed Beta. I will not be subscribing to the game, its a nice game and very well polished, it just wasnt what I am looking for at the moment.

None of us can state honestly what end game is exactly but from what they said there will be Monster Play and end game raids along with collecting feats and traits.

The problem was (I tested the game from day one of closed beta along with the first 35 people let in) that everytime we got to a high level, they reset the servers so that would we skim through the beginning areas and re report old bugs and glitches that weren't fixed and try new characters out. The highest we got in the closed beta was 43 twice, and then they gave us a level 30 character for a while and when we hit 40 they reset it and we lost that character too.

So nobody here can claim they honestly know what end game is like, other than stating what the devs have told us.

There were players who were level 50 (GM's who did actually play/test the game along with us). 

LOTRO from my experience (closed and open beta) will be largely instanced end game. Not uncommon these days as its much easier to create and more specifically balance instanced content. You are likely looking forward to much of what other games have to offer. LOTRO has little that is new to the MMORPG industry. For the most part it has created its own stylized renditions of well used (pre-established) game mechanics. In short the first 45 levels had nothing that had never been done before; therefore there is no reason to suspect that the so called end-game will be anything more than rehashed Tolkienesque versions of other MMORPG's (eccentially WoW, restylized into the LOTR franchise).

IMHO this will be a great game for the casual gamer, who can only play 10-15 hours a week or so. But more experienced gamers with more time to commit to gaming will most likely become quickly board of LOTRO (regardless of level acheived or how long it takes to acheive those levels).
