Yes the game is still in the Friends and Family and contest winners beta. The Contest winners have been playing since sometime in February. The friends / family since sometime last year.

So now that your friend is in - you cant encourage him to break the NDA by talking to him :)

I seem to recall the option to sign up for the beta as a link at the top of the NCSoft account management page, Exteel Beta is there too. In any case you need to have an account before you can sign up for the beta.

Er..not to be a downer, but I have a friend who actually works for Lineage 2 here in the states and in casual conversation here's something he posted to me.....

" Yeah still working at L2. Same old same old. I am just waiting for Warhammer Online to go beta. Also hopefully in a few years from now Warhammer 40k MMO but THQ just started the project .. And God, hope it will be nothing like Tabula Rasa .."

I think the biggest issue, and misconception people are having about TR is this:

TR is not a sci-fi shooter MMO. Sure, it has guns, it's sci-fi. If you read the lore, it has a lot of fantasyish background (coming from Lord British, what do you expect?) and it is not a shooter, it's an MMORPG, not an MMOFPS.

I find too many people are associating 'guns' with 'shooter' which is not the case. This is simply an MMORPG with a more advanced tactics system (cover, location, high ground, etc) and should be seen as one.

Just figured I would clarify as it seems to be a recurring problem.

Agreed. It's interesting (although maybe it's because there's no gameplay video yet) that people aren't all "Stargate Worlds is a shooter?" because it's also futuristic with guns. At least TR has the stones to try something new with their action based combat interface instead of tab attack. Which is exactly what SW is doing. I want to like SW, I really do, but what I've read and listened to from the devs is sending up red flags. I have a sneaking suspicion we're going to get a very traditional EQ/WoW/LOTRO game from them, the only real difference being the graphical theme -- replacing Swords & Sorcery with Guns & Grenades, otherwise the same ol' stand in place and tab attack gameplay.

To be fair, a lot of people prefer to stand in place, tab attack and play whack-a-mole. Especially the true casual gamers who probably don't game other than solitaire and tetris. TR will be too fast and twitchy for them. There is no magical single game that will make every gamer happy.

Binny.in - if your age of 13 is accurate you are out of luck until open beta. Closed beta testing requires testers to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement ( a legal contract) and so anyone under 18 will not be allowed into closed beta as they cant sign a binding contract.

Of course once it hits open beta - its open to one and all.

Hmm i never got sent an email about this even though i signed up virtually when the beta signups were up... hope its just a computer mistake haha....

And as long as weeks go, weeks could mean anything up to a few months xD
