Tabula Rasa, when it launches, is going to be a unique MMORPG with many diffferent elements and features. Today, with the help of our friends at NCsoft, MMORPG.com has translated two new ideograms from their unique, in-game language, making these the thrid and fourth symbol to be released through our site. More on this contest here. Cheers, |

Man... it seems to me this game TOTALLY fails to generate any hype even with all t he big names behind it like Garriot and NCsoft.
...and no wonder... logos? They're freakin unveiling logos!? Oh and here's the best part... they spread the unveiling over multiple weeks! Sure it's cool that they put time and effort and develop this whole system. So present the system!... a freakin idiotgram is nothing to gawk at! I don't even need to play the game or a demo now... I've already come to the impression that it reeks of suckage and futility. More news about the toast please! Will there be a testing phase? |

He's not had a solid game since he stopped prentending to be Lord British. It's sad really. He has this huge opinion of his 'creative vision' meanwhile everyone's laughing at him |

actually, that's kinda cool. just looking at it for a few minutes, it seems to be an abbreviated narration of the backstory. ____________________________ |

Getting killed in UO must have changed him ;) This game does have some buzz. It and Conan from all the current mmorpg are the ones most anticipated, from what i've seen. This contest is hard to locate on the main tabula page. It's more for the long time or "early" fans. The big advert push will come later. City of Heroes did the same if I remember right. |

I must recon that at this moment I am a WoW-addict. But I looking for something like Tabula Rasa or Fallen Earth. PD. At TR/NcSoft they need somebody that speak spanish or not try to write lore in a language that do not know, because "The Mystery of Piedra de las Acianos" is not even spanglish "The Mystery of the Elder's Stone" or "El Misterio de la Piedra de los Ancianos" |

Im really surprised many of you arent anticipating this game more...sure Garriot hasnt made any great games over the last few years but thats probably because EA actually paid him off not to make anygames for a certain ammount of years after they bought out origin(guess they thought something of his creative vision).Personally i think R. Garriot s UO was the most inovative and influential game of the decade ..it did after all create the genre of this very forum I also heard from many that tried TR at the last e3 that the combat was wicked fun...and more immersive then the now mainstream system of click on target , then click on ability . I wont be surprised if ths new syle will change the way we play our mmorpgs in the future. |

I'm actually interested in Tabula Rasa. Not massively hyped, but none the less interested. Personally I like this way of getting attention rather than making proud boasts and flashy trailers that don't live up to the game like most do. As for him not making anything good recently, all I was really aware of him actually working on at all was the old ultima games and ultima online before he left, after that he was restricted from working on another game that would be in competition for so many years as part of an agreement he made when he left.
As for the translation, it's coming along rather easily. I have the first two lines translated to be more or less correct. Getting it exact word for word may be a pain, but I have a feeling I can get what it's trying to communicate and the translation by tonight, with a handful of words here and there that need to be kinked for accuracy. Anyway, I'm having fun with this, so back to work. Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts. EAT ME MMORPG.com! |

I'd rather they give us these quirky little contests then a badass trailer that shows things that will never be implemented into the gameplay. It's good to show off your product, but a lot of games in this genre fail to live up to the expectations beset by their trailers, info, etc. I want Tabula Rasa to succeed. I order my groceries online. |

In addition, we are talking about Richard Garriot. It's just not his style to be straightforward like that

Does anyone know what this means by chance?
![]() It's obviously some sort of interstellar transportation device or method, but I can't pin down an exact word. I have the first six lines more or less translated. Translated enough that I can easily paraphrase what is being said. Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts. EAT ME MMORPG.com! |

For those that care, the message reads ([] = dunno, possibly): Long ago our civilization grew upon [a] planet [?] was far travel in space When our civilization was young we looked to the cosmos and wondered if we were alone in the cosmos After many years our civilization discovered the secret of [wormholes] [Wormholes] [surround] all the stars of the cosmos and with [wormholes] we traveled the cosmos we [planned] to discover those who might have traveled the cosmos before us but there were not others before us we alone discovered the secret of the [wormholes] [then] we were traveling the cosmos to find others to give the secret of the [wormholes] but we [?] a [race? bane?] [?] now [?] the cosmos. hear our voice hear the secret of the [wormholes] together we will protect the future the battle for control of the cosmos begins now! Moving stuff. :P |
