I dont mind that its diablo twoish. It doesnt bother me. I love the freedom of class and skill choice. Thing is item hunting barely exist in guildwars. Theres no phat loots or going to defeat a extremely hardboss for epic gear and what not. Going for that epic gear and great gear is the peace that goes alone with the MMO puzzle.
Yea theres gear that drops and you wear but most can be brought or made by runes. Im talking about awesome looking rare loot that you can hunt for. |

The whole point of Guild Wars is to eliminate that factor. The game is made to "reward player skill, not time spent playing."
If amazing loot was introduced into the game, the majority of players would find it highly unfair. Why should one person have the advantage of another just because they had the time to go out and kill mobs so that they can get a really expensive item? There are items in-game with rare skins that aren't necessarily high above the rest, but they have rare skins that make them worth millions. That's the closest I think we'll ever get to Uber loot, and I personally am fine with that. Why not go hunting for rare greens? Their stats aren't way above the rest but rewarding nonetheless in the amount of gold you'll find streaming into your bank account ;) Hard-mode is being introduced this week, which promises better loot. You never know what that better loot might be |

wait until you get to the domain of anguish, running a casual group instead of a power build group.

Apparently this whole thread smells. I agree with Viol@tion and don't believe that this game was meant to be an uber loot based game. I like it that way. Options is a good word and our friend.

I played Guild Wars for a while. The only "epic" things to do were do Guild Battles. Its a free game so everyone looks the same. For your most "epic " item running and what not will be in the underworld running for chests. The game is good but gets old.

The OP misses the point of the game entirely. |

loads of people misses the point of GW, half of them only want another WoW clone which they will complain about and call a WoW clone anyway. well they will get what they want in 2009 when GW 2 comes out
