Just cos they are both chinese doensn't mean they will be the same. |

Originally posted by Torak Yep gameplay is very standard... you can play with WASD or with point and click. Control feels similar to WoW, you dont feel any lag while moving (only when sing skills - due to my high ping to china)! Jumping and walking is also possible which looks very good. The interface is not as cold as Lineage 2 but als not as colorful as WoW... I would say its inbetween. Everything is quick accessible via hotkeys - there is some modification possible too (colors, windows rearrangment, adjustable hotbars etc.). This game is all about that not everyone looks the same (so not like most other eastern mmorpgs). From the characer customisation to the "social clothes" ! This game has the option to switch between your normal cloth to the social clothing (same as the different sets in vanguard). Also you can create your very special social clothings with crafting etc. ! I just began with crafting but its too difficult without knowing all the items names... for now I am only harvesting some different kind of materials for some nice money Oh and in the movie which Tarok posted you hear some of the ingame music scores. Very beatiful and relaxing music during gameplay, at least it absolutely fits my taste Kind regards, Currently playing: Tera |

Hey to all, just browsing in MMORPG.com and saw this post... and I do play this game (the "international ver." which is Simplified Chinese version of it, and waiting for my brother to buy the Traditional version, which is for Taiwan & HK). It's not that bad when compare to all the Asian MMO out there. The character creation system, the look of things, the combat system, the questing system, are all pretty well done. Of course, if you are into Asian mythology, and you understand the language, it'll be easier to play, but even if translating it into English, my guess is that if you are not into the lore and mythology, you won't get that deep into it. So far this is one of the better-made Asian mythology based game... it's a bit different than martial art games, but the premises are almost the same. So if you are into Asian, especially Chinese culture, this is a fun game to play. One of the fun aspect in this game is that you can hug and kiss other players (only male char and female char... the same-sex characters are not allowed... ) That is one of the attraction for this game, that it shows emotional expression pretty good.
Of course, there are good and there are bad, after a while the combat feels like all other Asian MMO (the use of pot), and that the Item Shop system isn't the best (I know many of you guys don't like it, but this is normal for Asian MMO to do if they are f2p, or would you rather pay monthly fee for this game?) Anyways, if you guys want to ask more stuff, let me know... Oh, almost forgot, THIS IS NOT A RUMOR!!! There will be a game that's coming out to the Asian MMO market. Soft-World, a Taiwanese game company, partner up with a Singaporian 3D design team, is developing a game called Xenjo Journeys (this is the english name for it, at least it is on the screen shots) This game is based on a online novel, and the story is similar to that of the Perfect World, but different. It's Chinese Mythology in Space... kinda funny, but you have to read the novel to understand... This game will be pushed for PC and Xbox 360 sometimes this year... Unlike FFXI, this game will let players from PC and Xbox 360 to play on same server(s). Meaning if you own both copy, you cna play on either your PC or Xbox 360... Supposely Soft-World is still in negotiation with Microsoft over the Xbox LIVE stuff. And that it is said that this game might be out in March, but so far I checked many Asian game sites, and have not gotten more information out of it...
Just thought you guys would want to know if you are thinking of playing Perfect World. Current MMO: Eden Eternal, Divina (TW Ver.), World of Tanks. Past MMO: Way too many (P2P and F2P) |

Like I promised in an earlier post... I have good answers for you regarding the RMT wihtin this game. I just asked a friend in PW... he told me that the RMT is really only for items which are luxury but dont influence the gameplay. There are NO weapons or Armors to buy etc. ! Mostly Fashion Items, flying things, pets and other nice to have things, like Scamm protector items etc. (whatever those do Regarding the farming and botters situation, he told me that he heard of them but never found one. I have also watched out for them in the starter areas and so, but except 1-2 strangly named characters (fgdfgdfg - I guess those were farmers, but well at least no bots as they reacted to me) nothing suspcious found...! Also they say that they ban regulary. And regarding the previous poster... you cannot only kiss the others gender person you can also carry them. And you can carry them even while mounted etc. So a man can carry a woman in his arms, while riding, flying etc. ! This is a very nice and easy feature but very well implemented (looks nice). Who never wanted to save your beloved in a fight and try to bring her out of the battlefield Kind regards, Currently playing: Tera |

Meh! I'd play the Japanese version if it utilized romanji instead of Kanji and Katakana. (Hirogana is actually easier for me though I haven't looked at it in a long time.)
I'll probably move from the Philippines to American if I like it though. I just noticed on their website. They have someones picture and its almost an exact representation in game. which is a level of character customization I've yet to see in a game like this. Siehst du mich |

Its pretty pointless to put chinese mmo's in the same box as korean MMO's. the chinese mmorpg market is a brand new market. give it a chance.

Indeed, this is the first big MMORPG from chinese which got very successful! My chinese friend told me that in china most just played the other eastern and western MMORPGs like WoW, DDO, Cabal, Lineage 2 etc. before, because chinese did not have any great MMORPGs themselves. But PW changed that and so got very successful in china. And due to the success they also began to localise it and make it available international. Also he explained me that this game stays totally true to this traditional chinese Myth "Pangu" and everything seems to be involved deeply into that. Thats why he told me that I won't see much of this game right now, especially if I dont understand the quests and lore... Kind regards, Currently playing: Tera |

BTW, I think the combat feels very nice, not too eastern and also not too much western, its inbetween (its chinese? :D). But most important are the animations and the feeling you get if you hit a mob etc., and those are very good. But I guess, tastes are different :) Kind regards, Currently playing: Tera |

WTF looks like a Lineage 2 clone, like so many asian games out there. Nothing original I saw in that game trailer. First, before I try any Chinese game, they need to demonstrate that they can follow copyright laws. STOP ripping other people's ideas and calling it theirs and then MAYBE I'll give it a try.

First off I could compare the game to nearly any other game out there. Success doesn't hinge entirely on orignality.
What the game does do is balance things very well. Albeit the combat style is comparable to L2 it does many other things with more finesse. Personal housing, easier to access mounts, progressive politics and various elements of the game help differentiate the game. If anything the game is more like WoW.. sorta. I mean WoW didn't really have a non-linear quest system like PW. All and all I liked the game alot more the WoW or L2. Though I still prefer CoX. Hehe just personal taste |
